The Goldhawk series (Mono, 9" to 14x9") is purpose-built for the GPX 6000. The Elite-Max series (Mono) runs on Minelab SD, GP, and GPX detectors as well as AlgoForce E1500 machines, and the MYTHTEK series serves the Minelab Manticore. Picking Between Round and Elliptical Designs for Coin, Relic, and Gold Hunting

Round coils sweep faster in open fields and cover ground efficiently when you're grid-searching for coins or relics. Elliptical coils maneuver between fence posts, around trash piles, and through brushy gold patches where a round coil won't fit. We run the 10x5" NOX DD for park hunting and the 14x9" Goldhawk Mono in the goldfields. The larger footprint on elliptical coils also increases depth on nuggets and deep silver without the weight penalty of a full-size round coil. Coil Covers and Field Durability

Every Coiltek coil pairs with a matching coil cover to protect the epoxy shell from abrasion. We've cracked unprotected coils on basalt outcrops and river cobble, and the repair cost exceeds the price of a cover — install one before the first hunt. Coiltek coils handle full submersion on waterproof Minelab models such as the Equinox and Manticore (on the GPX 6000, the coil is waterproof but the control box is not). The cable entry point is the vulnerable spot: inspect the strain relief after beach hunts and rinse saltwater residue to prevent corrosion. Target Recovery and Field Setup

Upgrading to a deeper-punching Coiltek coil means you will be recovering targets from greater depths and tougher terrain. To reduce fatigue and avoid damaging targets, pair your setup with heavy-duty digging tools designed for your soil type — a tempered steel digger for woods and pastures, or a sand scoop for the beach. A pinpointer speeds up recovery once the plug is out.
