XP DEUS II Fast Multi Frequency RC Metal Detector with 11″ FMF Search Coil

Today, XP is once more pushing the limits by creating, the first wireless, multi-frequency metal detector with unique features and performance. Once the coil, remote control, optional headphones, and optional pinpointer are paired, they communicate with each other wirelessly and without latency using the XP patented radio protocol system. This means that the target signals generated by the search coil are quickly transmitted to the headphones without any delay, giving the DEUS II unparalleled speed and accuracy. The DEUS 2 performs extremely well in all terrain and conditions, both on land and at sea, thanks to FMF^® (Fast Multi Frequency) technology. Waterproof to 20 meters.

Does the XP Deus 2 RC with 11 inch coil come with headphones?

No, the XP Deus 2 RC with 11 inch coil does not come with headphones. This package is the remote control, the 11 inch FMF coil, the S-telescopic stem and the charging cable, and the remote has a built-in speaker, so you can hunt straight out of the box. Headphones are an add-on: the XP WS6 or WSA II wireless sets pair to the remote, and the BH-01 bone conduction set plugs into the connector on the back for underwater work. How do I update the firmware on an XP Deus 2?

To update the firmware on an XP Deus 2, connect the remote control to a computer with the charging cable that ships in the box and run XP's DEUS II updater from updater.xpmetaldetectors.com. The updater refreshes the remote, and through it the coil and any paired headphones, so all three components end up on the same version. It is worth doing on any open box unit before the first hunt, since the XP V2 update added programs and features that an earlier unit will not have until it is updated. All XP gear in our XP collection is eligible for these updates.

Is the XP Deus 2 worth it?

Whether the XP Deus 2 is worth it depends on how much ground and water you hunt. For the money you get a fully wireless detector with fast multi frequency from 4 to 45 kHz, a coil and remote both rated to 20 meters (66 feet), 12 factory and 12 user programs, and a 5 year XP warranty. It is overkill for someone who hunts a local park a few times a year, where a simpler single frequency machine will find the same coins for far less. An open box unit is the least expensive way into one with the warranty intact.
