Garrett Pro-Pointer AT Instruction Manual - Free Digital Download

This is the Garrett instruction manual for the Pro-Pointer AT pinpointer, free to download in English, Spanish or French. The three things people open this manual to find

Powering on and off. Press and release the button, holding the pinpointer away from metal, to switch it on. To switch it off, press and hold the button for about half a second until you hear a single beep. A quick tap while the unit is running performs a fast retune instead, which is why a short press never shuts it down and why people assume the button is broken.

Sensitivity and Stealth Mode. Hold the button for about two seconds to enter adjustment mode, then press it repeatedly to cycle through six combinations: three sensitivity levels with audio, and the same three with vibration only. Garrett calls the vibration-only setting Stealth Mode. It is the one you want in a quiet park or anywhere a beeping pinpointer draws attention.

The battery. One 9 V, included. Rotate the battery cover counterclockwise by hand to open it and clockwise to close. No tools are needed, and tightening the cover by hand is what maintains the waterproof seal, so a loose cap is the usual cause of water getting in.

Check you have the right manual

This manual is for the standard Garrett Pro-Pointer AT, part 1140900, the orange pinpointer with no wireless. If yours has Z-Lynk wireless audio, part 1142200, download the Pro-Pointer AT Z-Lynk manual instead, since that model adds its own pairing steps. If yours is the shorter Pro-Pointer II, which is water-resistant rather than submersible, use the Pro-Pointer II manual. The pinpointer itself, if you are reading this before buying one, is the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT.

The figures above are Garrett's current published specifications. Earlier printings of the Pro-Pointer AT manual list a 10 ft depth rating and a two year warranty, both of which Garrett has since revised upward, so go by the specifications here rather than by an old PDF if the two disagree.
