This genuine Minelab 3011-0137 skid plate fits the 17x13 in CTX 17 elliptical coil for the Minelab CTX 3030. It snaps on without tools and takes the wear from rocks, roots and sand so the coil housing doesn't. Replace the cover when it wears thin and your coil stays protected.

Will this cover fit the CTX 3030's stock 11 in coil?

No. This skid plate fits only the 17x13 in CTX 17 elliptical coil. The stock 11 in coil and the 6 in coil each take their own cover, all found in our CTX 3030 coils and accessories collection.

Does a skid plate affect depth on the CTX 17?

No. The skid plate is non-metallic, so the CTX 3030 does not see it and depth is unaffected. Rinse sand and mud out from under it now and then to prevent false signals. If you are adding the coil too, see the CTX 17 Smart Coil and carbon fiber shaft set.

When should I replace my CTX coil cover?

Replace it once the bottom wears thin or cracks, well before it wears through to the coil. A cover is inexpensive, while a worn coil housing can let in water, so keep a spare if you hunt rocky ground or beaches. Find more parts in our Minelab accessories collection.
