The Minelab CTX 3030 carbon fiber lower shaft (part 3011-0130) lets you keep more than one coil ready to go. Instead of unbolting coils in the field, pre-mount each coil on its own lower shaft and switch setups in seconds.

Why Run a Second Shaft

Many CTX 3030 owners run the stock 11 in DD coil for general hunting, the 6 in DD for trashy parks and the 17x13 in DD for depth and coverage on open ground or beaches. With each coil on its own lower shaft, a change is just a matter of releasing the shaft lock, unplugging the coil connector and sliding in the next setup.

Can I leave a coil mounted on this lower shaft and swap it as one piece?

Yes, that is the main reason to buy a second CTX 3030 lower shaft. Mount a coil on it once, and a swap is just releasing the shaft lock, unplugging the coil connector and sliding in the other shaft, which is far quicker than unbolting a coil and rewrapping the cable at the dig site. If you would rather buy it assembled, our CTX 17 Smart Coil and carbon fiber shaft set arrives ready to swap in.

Will this lower shaft fit the Minelab Equinox or other Minelab detectors?

No. The 3011-0130 lower shaft is made only for the Minelab CTX 3030. The Equinox, Manticore and X-TERRA series each use their own shafts and coil mounts, so this shaft will not lock into them. For parts that fit your CTX, see our Minelab CTX 3030 collection.

Which CTX 3030 coils can I mount on a spare lower shaft?

All three Minelab CTX Smart Coils fit this lower shaft: the stock 11 in DD, the 6 in DD for trashy sites and the 17x13 in DD for depth and ground coverage. A popular setup is keeping the 6 in coil on a second shaft for trash-heavy parks. We also sell the 6 in Smart Coil already mounted on a carbon fiber shaft.
