The Garrett Axiom 13" x 11" Mono search coil (part 2236900) is the largest mono coil for the Garrett Axiom pulse induction detector, built for maximum depth and ground coverage when you are working open gold country. Garrett rates this mid-sized mono as the all-purpose prospecting coil for the Axiom, and a fitted coil cover is included in the box.

Mono or DD on the Axiom?

Mono coils give the Axiom its best depth and sensitivity in mild to moderate ground, while DD coils are the pick for severely mineralized or salt-heavy soils. If your ground lets you run a mono, this 13" x 11" is the coil for covering flats and reaching deep targets; many Axiom users pair it with a smaller mono for trashy patches and tight terrain.

Does the Garrett Axiom 13" x 11" Mono coil come with a coil cover?

Yes, the Garrett Axiom 13" x 11" Mono search coil includes a fitted coil cover in the box, so the scuff protection is there from the first hunt. Garrett lists the cover as included with part 2236900, and it is the same style of snap-on cover Garrett supplies with the Axiom's stock coils. Replacement covers are also available separately in our metal detector search coils collection if yours wears through.

Which detectors is the Garrett Axiom Mono coil compatible with?

The Garrett Axiom 13" x 11" Mono coil is compatible only with the Garrett Axiom pulse induction detector. It does not fit the AT series, Apex, ACE, or any other Garrett model, and it will not work on detectors from other brands. Garrett's Axiom coils use a dedicated connector and are tuned for the Axiom's pulse induction platform.

When should I use the Mono coil instead of a DD coil on the Garrett Axiom?

Use the Garrett Axiom Mono coil when your ground allows it: mono coils give the Axiom its best depth and sensitivity in mild to moderate mineralization, and the 13" x 11" adds ground coverage for open country. Switch to a DD coil in severely mineralized or salt-heavy soils where a mono becomes unstable. Garrett rates this mid-sized mono as the Axiom's all-purpose prospecting coil.
