This bundle is the full Garrett recovery kit for relic hunters and field detectorists: the 36" Razor Relic Shovel for plugs in hard ground and roots, the Edge Digger for the last few inches once the pinpointer has the target, and the All Terrain Dig Pouch to carry both and hold what you find. Bought together it saves you assembling the three pieces separately, and all three go on the belt so nothing is left at the truck.

    Do you need all three?

If you only hunt parks and lawns where a full-size shovel is unwelcome, the pouch and Edge Digger bundle without the shovel is the better buy. If you already carry a pouch, the shovel and digger are each sold on their own. This three-piece kit is for farm fields, woods and relic sites where plugs are deep, the ground is full of roots and clay, and you want the shovel's leverage plus a hand digger for cleanup. Our Razor Relic Shovel review covers how it compares to the Lesche Sampson if you are deciding between the two.

What each piece does in the field

The Razor Relic Shovel is 36" overall with a 9" serrated steel blade and a T-handle, so you can put both hands on it to cut a plug through roots and compacted soil that would fold a hand digger. At 3.85 lb it is a real shovel, not a trowel, and the included sheath covers the blade for transport. The Garrett Edge Digger is the 12" carbon-steel hand digger with a 7.5" serrated blade, rubber grip and blade guard, and it rides in its own belt sheath for the fine work once you have the plug out. The All Terrain Dig Pouch has mesh drain screens in the base so sand and dirt fall through on land and water drains out on the beach, a Pro-Pointer holster on the side, a small front pocket for your best finds, an interior carabiner for rings, two zippered pockets to keep trash away from treasure, and a belt long enough for any waist.

Is the Garrett Razor Relic Shovel better than the Lesche Sampson?

They are close competitors: both are 31 to 36 inch T-handle relic shovels with serrated steel blades. The Razor Relic is 36" with a 9" blade and weighs 3.85 lb; the Lesche Sampson is 31" with a 7.5" blade and is lighter. The Garrett gives more reach and a bigger plug; the Lesche is easier to carry all day and is made in the USA with a 5-year warranty. Our Razor Relic Shovel review goes through both in the field.

Does the All Terrain Dig Pouch fit a Garrett Pro-Pointer?

Yes, the Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch has a dedicated holster on the side sized for the Pro-Pointer AT, Pro-Pointer AT Z-Lynk and Pro-Pointer II, so the pinpointer rides upright and clear of your finds. Most other pinpointers of similar size fit too. The interior carabiner is for rings and the front pocket for your best finds. If you do not own one yet, the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT is the usual pairing.

Can I buy the Garrett Edge Digger and dig pouch without the shovel?

Yes. The Garrett All Terrain Dig Pouch and Edge Digger bundle is the same pouch and digger without the Razor Relic Shovel, for park and lawn hunting where a full-size shovel is not welcome. Each piece is also sold on its own. This three-piece bundle is for relic sites and fields where you want the shovel's leverage as well as a hand digger.
