About This Upgrade
Steve's Detector Rods engineered this lower rod with a key improvement over the stock Minelab design. While it's slightly longer at 26 inches, the spring button clip stays in the same position (22 3/4" from the end). This means more of the lower rod remains inserted in the middle section when adjusted to the same length as your factory rod.
The result is noticeably better stability and reduced flex - especially important when you're working trashy sites or trying to pinpoint targets precisely. The Steve's Detector Rods carbon fiber construction uses a durable twill pattern that holds up to regular use while keeping weight down.
This upgrade pairs well with other Minelab Equinox accessories and works perfectly with all standard Equinox search coils. If you're looking for a complete shaft upgrade, consider the upper and lower rod combo for maximum weight savings.
