The Raytech AV-25 is a heavy-duty vibratory tumbler built in the USA for deburring and polishing by the bowlful. Detectorists use it to clean batches of dug clad and relics, reloaders run it for brass, shops deburr castings and machined parts, and it doubles as a lapidary machine for grinding and polishing gemstones from rough chips. The 14 inch bowl holds 0.22 cubic feet of media, and the built-in drain lets you run wet cycles and change media without lifting the bowl.

    What's Included

    • Motorized spring-mounted base (115V)
    • 14" bowl with drain
    • Bowl cover
    • Operating instructions

    Key Features

    • 14" bowl, 0.22 cu ft capacity - processes a full batch of coins, brass, stones, or parts per cycle
    • Built-in drain - drain and rinse in place for wet polishing and fast media swaps
    • Four-position adjustable amplitude - an adjustable eccentric weight under the base tunes the action from very mild to very aggressive, so delicate finds and heavy deburring run on the same machine
    • 120-watt motor - 115V domestic model draws 1.7 amps; a 230V international version is available
    • Spring-mounted base - designed not to walk during normal operation, no bolting down needed (bolting to a bench actually voids the warranty)
    • Serviceable for the long haul - Raytech publishes a full parts list, and replacement bowls, springs, and motors are available; maintenance is a simple hardware check every 500 hours of use
    • Made in USA - built by Raytech Industries, a division of Lyman Products, in Middletown, Connecticut

    What to Run in It

Ceramic media handles heavy oxidation and crusted relics; corn cob or walnut with polish brings dug coins and brass to a shine; silicon carbide grits and polish turn rough stone chips into tumbled gems and cabochons. Two tips straight from the manual: load the bowl with media before starting at maximum amplitude, and if you both cut and polish, keep a second bowl reserved for polishing so embedded cutting grit never scratches your finish work. One honest note from our team: keep potentially collectible coins out of any tumbler, since cleaning destroys numismatic value. For bulk clad, buttons, buckles, and range brass, the AV-25 is the fastest route to a clean batch. If you plan to burnish with steel media, Raytech builds a dedicated version, the AV-25SS, for that job; this standard AV-25 is the right pick for ceramic, plastic, and organic media.
