No, you cannot run steel shot or ceramic media in the Raytech Tumble-Vibe 10 (TV-10). Raytech's operating instructions state that the TV-10 cannot be used with steel shot or ceramic; only the smaller TV-5 is rated for up to 4 lb of shot. For this machine, stick to silicon carbide grit, polish, and plastic pellets from our rock tumbler polish and grit range.

The Raytech Tumble-Vibe 10 (TV-10) no-drain model runs wet, not dry. Raytech says to keep a slurry of grit and water in the bowl with no standing water, and warns that running too dry causes premature wear on the bowl. Because this version has no drain fitting, you empty each stage by tipping the bowl out, then strain the grit rather than pouring it down a sink.
