Minelab Hip Mount Kit for Excalibur II Metal Detectors

The Minelab Hip Mount Kit is compatible with the Excalibur 800, Excalibur 1000, Excalibur II 800, and Excalibur II 1000 metal detectors. The bracket fits both the original Excalibur series and the Excalibur II series control boxes. If you're running an older Excalibur 800 or 1000 and considering an upgrade to the Excalibur II, the same hip mount works with both units, so you won't need to buy a second bracket when you switch detectors.

The hip mount kit reduces arm fatigue by relocating the Excalibur control box from the stem to your waist, shifting weight off your swing arm. When you're chest-deep in surf for three or four hours, holding the control box on the stem strains your shoulder and forearm. Mounting the control box on your belt moves that weight to your core, letting your arm swing freely through wave action without the added mass. The control box stays within reach at hip level for sensitivity and threshold adjustments without raising the detector out of the water.

The hip mount attaches to a standard belt using the included mounting hardware. The bracket slides onto your belt and secures the Excalibur control box at waist height. The hardware holds the control box stable in wave action and current, so it won't shift or bounce when you're moving through chest-deep water. The setup takes a few minutes to install and stays secure for multi-hour sessions.

You can still adjust sensitivity and threshold with the control box hip-mounted because the bracket positions it at waist height where the controls stay accessible. When you're swinging in chest-deep water, the control box is within easy reach without raising the detector out of the surf. This hip mount kit is the updated version that replaced Minelab's previous part number 8006-0007. The current part number is 3011-0185, and it includes updated mounting hardware that fits the same Excalibur control boxes as the earlier version. If you're replacing a worn or lost hip mount from an older Excalibur kit, this is the current factory replacement that works with both the original Excalibur series and the Excalibur II series detectors.

The hip mount works for both land and water detecting, though most Excalibur owners use it for water hunts where the detector's weight becomes more noticeable in chest-deep conditions. On land, the hip mount reduces arm strain during long sessions in parks or fields, but the Excalibur is primarily a water detector, so the hip mount sees the most use in surf, river, and lake environments. The bracket attaches to any standard belt, so you can switch between land and water setups depending on where you're hunting.
