    Best for

Highlighted icons show the targets, ground and experience level this detector is built for.

The XP Deus II (often written Deus 2) is the first fully wireless metal detector to run true simultaneous multi-frequency detection, transmitting across the 4-45 kHz spectrum in real time through XP's FMF (Fast Multi Frequency) technology. This configuration is the two-coil kit: the remote control, S-telescopic stem, and both the 9" round FMF coil and the 13x11" elliptical FMF coil, so you own the tight-space coil and the depth-and-coverage coil from day one instead of buying the second one later. The coils, remote, and optional headphones communicate over XP's patented radio link with no latency, and the whole system is waterproof to 20 meters (66 feet).

What's Included with the XP Deus II Two-Coil Bundle

    • XP Deus II remote control with backlit graphic display and hip-mount case
    • 9" (22.5 cm) round FMF search coil with coil cover
    • 13x11" (34x28 cm) elliptical FMF search coil with coil cover
    • S-telescopic stem with lower stem
    • Aerial antenna for underwater use with clip
    • Gray cap for the remote and red cap for diving
    • Charging cable for coils, remote, and firmware updates
    • Connection clamp

Why Buy the Deus II with Both Coils

    • Two coils, two jobs: the 9" round separates targets in iron-choked parks, cellar holes, and tot lots; the 13x11" elliptical covers open fields and beaches faster with more depth on deep silver and large relics.
    • Swap in seconds: both coils pair to the same remote, each keeps its own settings, and the wireless design means no cable to unplug.
    • Cheaper than adding the second coil later: the 13x11" FMF coil sold on its own is a significant purchase; the bundle price undercuts buying the single-coil kit plus a second coil.
    • Same FMF engine on both: 49 single frequencies from 4 to 45 kHz or simultaneous multi-frequency programs, so a silver dime and a gold chain both signal cleanly on the same pass.
    • Waterproof to 20 meters with the aerial antenna, wireless from coil to remote to headphones, and starting at 750 grams for the full detector.

FMF Multi-Frequency Performance in Mineralized Ground and Wet Salt

The Deus II runs FMF across 49 selectable single frequencies (4-45 kHz) or simultaneous multi-frequency programs that cover the full spectrum at once. Simultaneous transmission means you're not toggling between frequencies to optimize for a target type; the detector processes all frequencies in parallel. We've hunted the XP Deus II lineup in Arizona caliche and Gulf Coast wet sand; the multi-frequency stability eliminates the ground-noise spikes single-frequency VLF units throw in hot soil.

Parks and Trashy Sites with the 9" Coil

The 9" coil fits between playground equipment and benches, and the FMF programs handle trashy sites without masking. Reactivity settings let you slow the recovery speed for deep coins or crank it for high-trash environments where target separation matters. The remote's discrimination range is wide enough to notch out aluminum pull tabs while keeping nickels and gold jewelry in the accept zone.

Open Fields and Beaches with the 13x11" Coil

Mount the 13x11" for plowed fields, pasture, and long beach transects. The elliptical footprint covers more ground per swing than the 9" and reaches deeper on coin-sized and larger targets, while staying manageable on the S-telescopic stem for full-day hunts. On wet salt sand, FMF holds ground balance where single-frequency machines drift with the tide. Both coils are IP68-rated for full submersion; the remote is splash-resistant and rides on your hip in the included case.

    Gold Prospecting in Ironstone Terrain

The high end of the FMF spectrum (40-45 kHz) delivers sensitivity to sub-gram nuggets in mineralized soil. The 9" coil's smaller footprint reduces ground noise in hot rocks, and ground tracking or manual grab modes adapt to shifting mineralization between ironstone patches and decomposed granite. The non-motion pinpoint mode shrinks the target zone before you dig in rocky ground.

    Lightweight Ergonomics and Wireless Freedom

    • Ultra-light platform starting at 750 grams (1.65 lb): the S-telescopic stem collapses for transport and extends to fit arm length without adding weight.
    • Wireless architecture eliminates cable snag in brush and thick cover; the remote mounts on your hip and XP wireless headphones (sold separately) pair to the same link.
    • Independent volume for remote, wireless headphones, and bone-conduction headphones, with a four-band equalizer per output.
    • Remote runs up to 25 hours and each coil up to 20 hours per charge; the included cable charges all components in about three hours.
    • 12 factory programs plus 12 user-programmable slots covering general, beach, gold, and relic hunting.

Why buy the two-coil bundle instead of the 9" kit and adding a coil later?

Price and convenience. The 13x11" FMF coil bought separately is a significant add-on, and the bundle price sits below the single-coil kit plus a second coil. You also get both coils paired to the remote out of the box, each with its own saved settings, so the first hunt can start with the 9" in a trashy park and finish with the 13x11" on the beach. If you only ever hunt one kind of ground, the single-coil kit is the better buy; compare it on the XP Deus II with remote and 9" coil page.

Are headphones included with this bundle?

No. This configuration is the remote control, both coils, stem, and accessories; the remote has a built-in speaker, but most Deus II owners add XP wireless headphones so target audio arrives with no latency over the same radio link. The WS6 is the compact choice, the WSA II and WSA II XL are full over-ear sets, and the BH-01 bone-conduction headset is for diving. All of them are in our metal detector headphones collection.

    Answered by Richard T. · September 2026

How do I switch between the 9" and 13x11" coils?

Unclip the lower stem, swap the coil, and select it on the remote; the remote stores each coil's pairing and settings separately, so switching takes well under a minute with no re-pairing. Both coils charge from the same cable, and each carries its own battery good for up to 20 hours. Some owners keep a second lower stem on the spare coil so the swap is one clip. Spare stems and hardware are in our XP metal detectors collection.

    Answered by Dan P. · September 2026

Is the whole detector waterproof, or just the coils?

The coils, lower stem, and antenna are IP68-rated to 20 meters (66 feet), and the remote control is waterproof too when the red diving cap is fitted; fit the aerial antenna so the wireless link reaches the remote underwater. For surface beach and creek hunting, the gray cap and normal antenna setup are fine. That makes the Deus II one of the few multi-frequency detectors you can take diving rather than just wading. Other machines rated to similar depth are in our waterproof metal detectors 65–196+ feet collection.

    Answered by John W. · September 2026

Which coil should I run for gold prospecting?

The 9" round. Its smaller footprint reads less ground noise in hot rocks and ironstone, and paired with the 40-45 kHz end of the FMF spectrum it's sensitive to sub-gram nuggets. Run ground tracking on mineralized patches and use the non-motion pinpoint mode to shrink the target before you dig. The 13x11" is the coil for open ground and depth, not for small gold in hot soil. Purpose-built nugget machines, including pulse-induction options, are in our gold detectors collection.

    Answered by Richard T. · September 2026

What warranty does the Deus II carry?

XP backs the Deus II with a five-year limited manufacturer warranty on the remote and coils, with batteries and connectors covered for two years. As an authorized XP dealer, Serious Detecting ships every unit with a genuine factory serial number, and we handle firmware updates and warranty questions for our customers. The detector is designed, built, and serviced in France. Every configuration we carry, from WS6-only kits to this two-coil remote bundle, is in our XP Deus II collection.
