At Serious Detecting, we work hard to get your metal detectors and accessories to you quickly and safely. Below you’ll find our complete shipping and delivery information—written simply, so you know exactly what to expect when placing an order with us.

Free Shipping Over $99

Shipping is FREE on all orders over $99 within the Contiguous United States (Prospectors Dream products excluded). If you live outside the contiguous U.S., place your items in the cart to view accurate shipping rates.

Shipment & Transit Times

Orders for in-stock items placed before 3:00 PM ET on business days typically ship the same day (pending verification). Orders placed after this time, or over the weekend, ship the next business day. If there is any issue with your order, our team will reach out within one business day.

Used Items

Most used items ship the same day when orders are placed, processed, and verified by 1:00 PM ET, Monday–Friday. Orders requiring verification or placed after the cutoff ship the next business day.

Delivery of Oversize Items

Oversize or heavy items ship via truck freight and may require an extra day for processing. Typical delivery time is 7–10 business days, with extended times for rural areas.

Truck deliveries require an appointment. The carrier will contact you to schedule it. An adult must be present to receive, inspect, and sign for the delivery. Missed appointments may incur a rescheduling fee based on the carrier’s policy.

Truck deliveries include threshold service only. White-glove, inside delivery, after-hours, or weekend service may be available for an additional charge, which we cannot guarantee or cover. Freight shipments cannot be delivered to PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or locations outside the continental U.S.

Signature Required

Most shipments require an adult signature upon delivery. Packages cannot be rerouted or picked up from UPS without authorization. If UPS cannot successfully deliver after several attempts, they may bring the package to a UPS Access Point. If you need help coordinating delivery, please contact us.

Damaged or Missing Items

Damaged packages: If your order arrives damaged, keep all original packaging and contact us immediately. This allows us to file a claim and replace your item quickly. Please do not return a damaged item without contacting us first, as it delays processing.

Missing items: Missing item claims must be reported within five business days of delivery.

Truck freight deliveries: When receiving a freight shipment, carefully inspect the item before signing. Do not sign the delivery manifest until you confirm the correct model and condition. Once signed, we cannot file a damage claim on your behalf. If damage is found, note it on the manifest and contact us within 48 business hours.

International Shipping

We ship throughout the U.S., Canada, and to over 200 countries where allowed by manufacturers. International shipments may incur taxes, duties, customs fees, and brokerage charges, which must be paid by the recipient.

Due to high international shipping costs, we cannot ship orders containing backordered items. We will hold the order until all items are available. Contact us if you wish to make changes.

If an international shipment is refused or returned, any fees or shipping charges incurred will be the responsibility of the customer.

Order Transit Times

Transit times depend on the shipping method selected at checkout. Please allow extra time for shipments to U.S. territories, PO boxes, or military APO/FPO addresses.

Expedited options are shown at checkout and are subject to item availability. Orders placed before 1:00 PM ET typically ship the same business day.

Expedited shipping is not available for U.S. territories, PO boxes, or APO/FPO addresses.

Shipping to PO Boxes & APO/FPO Addresses

Yes—orders can be shipped to PO boxes and military APO/FPO addresses. Please allow 6–8 weeks for APO/FPO deliveries.

Hazardous Goods

Some items are classified as hazardous and must ship via ground within the United States only. For details, see the UPS hazardous goods guidelines.
