    Are Minelab coils interchangeable, or do the M15 and M8 only fit the Manticore?

    The Minelab M15 and M8 coils are not interchangeable across Minelab detectors. Both are built for the Minelab Manticore only. Minelab gives the Manticore its own dedicated M-series coil lineup, so Equinox EQX coils will not fit a Manticore, and these M coils will not fit an Equinox.     What coils are available for the Minelab Manticore?

    Minelab makes four coils for the Minelab Manticore: the M8 at 8 x 5.5 inches elliptical DD, the M9 at 9 inches round DD, the M11 at 11 inches round DD, and the M15 at 15 x 12 inches elliptical DD.     My Manticore already came with a coil. Do I need the M15 and M8 too?

    Your Minelab Manticore came with the M11, the 11-inch round DD that Minelab ships as standard. It is a strong all-round coil, and the M15 and M8 are not replacements for it. They cover the two ends the M11 does not: the M15 for wide sweeps and depth on open ground and beaches, the M8 for separating targets in iron-heavy parks and tight spots.
