The Minelab 18 in round Monoloop Commander coil (3011-0075) is the largest mono in the Commander range, built for prospectors chasing bigger gold at depths smaller coils cannot reach, and for covering large patches fast.

    Key Benefits

    • Maximum Commander depth - more depth than smaller Commander coils on larger targets
    • Wide ground coverage - an 18 in sweep covers more ground per pass
    • Monoloop winding - the deepest winding type for mild to moderate ground
    • Litz wire, low-noise cable and gold-plated connector - for stable, quiet operation
    • Water resistant - handles wet ground and damp grass (not submersible)
    • Coil cover included

    Built for Deep Gold

This is a coil for detecting old ground again and working big patches, not for picking specks from bedrock. A large mono gives up some sensitivity to small, shallow gold compared with smaller coils, but it reaches deeper, larger nuggets you would walk over with the stock coil. If your ground is hot or highly variable, the 18 in Commander Double-D trades some depth for more stable operation.

    Compatibility

Fits the GPX 5000, GPX 4800, GPX 4500, GPX 4000, GP Extreme, GP 3500, GP 3000 and SD 2000, SD 2100 (all versions) and SD 2200 (all versions). Not compatible with the GPX 6000, GPZ series or SDC 2300. See our Minelab parts by detector model guide for details.

Should I choose the 18 in Mono or the 18 in DD Commander coil?

Choose the Mono for depth and the DD for stability. In mild to moderate ground the 18 in Monoloop gets more depth on large gold. In hot, variable or salty ground a mono can get noisy, and the DD runs smoother for a small cost in depth. If your patches are mineralized, look at the 18 in Commander Double-D.

Will the 18 in Commander coil work on the GPX 6000?

No. The GPX 6000 uses its own coil range and connector, so Commander coils do not fit it. This coil is for the GPX 5000, 4800, 4500 and 4000, plus the GP and SD series. GPX 6000 owners should shop the Minelab GPX 6000 collection.

Do I need a bungee to swing an 18 in coil all day?

On long days, most prospectors find a bungee worth it with an 18 in coil. A large coil puts noticeable load on your forearm, and a bungee from your harness to the shaft takes most of that weight so you can keep the coil low and slow. The Minelab bow knuckle and bungee kit fits GPX series detectors.
