Is the 11 in coil the right Deus II coil for you?

The 11 in FMF coil is the all-rounder: more ground per sweep and more depth on coin-sized targets than the 9 in, without the weight of the 13 x 11 in. It is the pick for beaches, plowed fields, pasture and parks that are not carpeted in iron. If most of your sites are cellar holes, tot lots and tight woods, the 9 in coil separates targets better; if you hunt wide open beach and field almost exclusively, the 13 x 11 in goes deeper still. What the MI-6 pinpointer adds

The XP MI-6 is the only pinpointer that pairs with the Deus II by radio. Switch it on and the detector goes to standby, its audio plays through your WS6 headphones, and the remote shows a target-zoom graph with the pinpointer's battery and sensitivity. You get 50 sensitivity levels from the remote's menu instead of the three on the probe. It is waterproof to 20 ft (6 m), runs about 90 hours per charge, and has a lost-pinpointer alarm you trigger from the remote. Holster, lanyard and USB cable are in the box.

What the Backpack 240 adds

The XP Backpack 240 is a 31-liter pack built around the collapsed S-telescopic stem, with a mud-separation pocket for the coil, an exterior pinpointer pocket, a headphone pocket and a water bottle pocket. At 700 g empty it does not add much to the carry, and the reinforced 600D base takes being dropped on gravel. It carries a 2-year XP warranty.

How the Deus II works in the field

The coil, remote and WS6 headphones link over XP's radio protocol with no audible delay, so you hear a faint deep target the instant the coil sees it. FMF runs several frequencies at once for stable target IDs on wet salt sand and mineralized ground, or you can lock one of 49 single frequencies from 4 to 45 kHz.
