The TerraX Blue Bowl Gold Concentrator Kit delivers everything you need for serious fine gold recovery in one complete package. This American-made system combines proven vortex technology with precision classifiers to capture ultra-fine gold that traditional panning methods miss.

    Complete Gold Prospecting Kit Includes

    • Recover microscopic gold flakes - Blue Bowl vortex technology isolates particles down to 200 mesh
    • Process material faster - Prospecting mat with 100 mini cyclone cells speeds up cleanup
    • Sort efficiently - 9-piece classifier set (1/2" to 1/100") fits standard 5-gallon buckets
    • Portable power system - 750 GPH 12-volt pump with battery clips and flow control valve
    • Ready to run - Wire leg levelers, flex hose, and all hardware included
    • Built to last - Made in USA with 304 stainless steel mesh screens

    Why This Kit Works Better

The prospecting mat insert transforms how the Blue Bowl operates. Instead of running material slowly to avoid losses, you can process concentrates faster while the mat's cyclone cells trap fine gold that might otherwise escape. The black classifier pans create perfect contrast for spotting gold, and the nine different mesh sizes let you grade material precisely.

This setup excels at cleaning up black sand concentrates from sluicing or highbanking. The classifiers handle the initial sorting, then the Blue Bowl processes the finest material where hand panning becomes tedious. It's particularly effective on flour gold from desert washes or glacial material.

    What's in the Complete Kit

Blue Bowl System: Concentrator bowl, prospecting mat insert (4" inner, 10.25" outer), 750 GPH pump, control valve, flex hose with battery clips, wire leg levelers

    Classifier Set: Nine TerraX black plastic pans with 304 stainless steel mesh - sizes 1/2", 1/4", 1/8", 1/12", 1/20", 1/30", 1/50", 1/70", 1/100" - designed for 5-gallon buckets

    American Manufacturing Quality

Every component in this TerraX kit is engineered and manufactured in the United States. The classifiers use heavy-duty plastic construction with welded stainless steel mesh that won't rust or tear. This isn't imported equipment that fails after one season - it's built for years of creek work and desert prospecting.

Perfect for prospectors who want to upgrade from basic panning or need a portable cleanup system for remote locations. Browse our complete selection of gold prospecting equipment or explore other Blue Bowl concentrator options.

What power source does the Blue Bowl pump need?

The kit ships with a 750 GPH 12-volt pump with battery clips, so any 12V source works: a deep-cycle battery, a lawn-tractor battery, or a jump pack. Draw is modest, and a small battery runs a full cleanup session. The inline flow-control valve lets you throttle the water down without touching the power, which is what you'll be adjusting most as you dial in the vortex. If you'd rather run from a wall outlet at home, a 12V power supply rated for a few amps replaces the battery. Other pumps and power accessories are in our gold prospecting equipment collection.

How fine does the Blue Bowl actually recover gold?

Run correctly, the Blue Bowl holds gold down to about 200 mesh, which is finer than you can see without a loupe. The trick is classification: the bowl only separates by density when every particle in the batch is roughly the same size, which is why this kit includes nine classifiers from 1/2 inch down to 1/100 inch. Classify your concentrates, run one size fraction at a time, and adjust the flow so black sand just barely walks out of the bowl. The prospecting mat insert adds a hundred small cyclone cells that trap fines during the run. See the standalone bowls and mats in our Blue Bowl concentrator collection.

Do the classifiers fit a standard 5-gallon bucket?

Yes. All nine TerraX classifiers are sized to sit on the rim of a standard 5-gallon bucket, and they nest inside each other for transport. The screens are welded 304 stainless steel mesh in black plastic frames, so they won't rust and the black background makes gold easy to spot as you work. Sizes run 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/12, 1/20, 1/30, 1/50, 1/70, and 1/100 inch. You'd use the coarse ones in the field ahead of a sluice and the fine ones at home ahead of the bowl. Individual sizes are available in our gold classifiers and sifters collection.

What does the prospecting mat insert do, and do I need it?

The mat drops into the bowl and adds roughly 100 mini cyclone cells to the surface. During a run, fine gold that would otherwise circulate with the black sand gets trapped in those cells, which lets you run a little faster and with a bit more water without losing fines. It isn't required; the No Mat kit runs the bowl exactly as the original design intended. If your concentrates are heavy in flour gold or you're cleaning up beach and glacial material, the mat pays for itself. Mat colors are cosmetic. The rest of the TerraX line is in our TerraX gold prospecting and digging tools collection.

Can the Blue Bowl handle black sand concentrates from a sluice or highbanker?

That's exactly what it's for. A sluice or highbanker leaves you with a bucket of heavy black sand holding the gold; the Blue Bowl is the cleanup step that separates the two. Classify the cons with the included screens, run each fraction, and the gold collects in the center while the black sand exits over the lip. Most prospectors run the bowl at home rather than in the field so they can take their time with the flow. For the field end of the process, see the sluices and highbankers in our Gold Cube concentrators and prospecting systems collection.

    Answered by Dan P. · September 2026

Is the TerraX Blue Bowl kit made in the USA?

Yes. The bowl, the prospecting mat, and all nine classifiers are manufactured in the United States, and the classifier mesh is 304 stainless steel rather than the galvanized screen used on imported sets. That's the reason the classifiers don't rust after a season in the creek and the frames don't crack in cold weather. The pump is a standard 12V bilge-style unit. If you're building a full cleanup setup, pair the kit with a gold pan and snuffer from our gold pans and gold panning kits collection.
