XP Metal Detectors: Wireless From the Beginning
XP Deus was fully wireless before wireless was a selling point anywhere else in the industry. The French manufacturer has been building cable-free detectors since 1998 — the remote communicates with the coil and headphones without physical connection, eliminating the cable failures, snags, and weight distribution issues that come with wired systems. The DEUS II takes that foundation and adds simultaneous multi-frequency performance, 65-foot full waterproofing, and the WS6 Master headphones with built-in audio processing.
XP DEUS 2 – Three Things No Other Detector Does Together
The XP DEUS 2 metal detector combines Fast Multi-Frequency detection, a fully wireless zero-lag audio platform, and 65-foot waterproofing on every component — the remote, the coil, and the WS6 Master headphones. No other machine does all three simultaneously. The 65-foot waterproofing is meaningful: this is one of a very small number of machines rated for actual shallow dive detecting. For relic hunters who want the audio clarity and wireless freedom of the DEUS platform with modern multi-frequency performance, the DEUS II is the machine. See full details at XP DEUS II.
XP ORX – Focused Performance at Lower Cost
The XP ORX uses the same wireless platform as the DEUS II without the full multi-frequency capability. It runs at selectable single frequencies with a focus on high-frequency performance for gold nuggets, coins, and fine targets in moderately mineralized ground. For hunters who want the wireless XP platform and primarily hunt land sites in moderate conditions, the ORX is a capable machine at a lower price than the DEUS II. It is not a beach machine — single-frequency VLF in salt conditions is the wrong tool.
DEUS II vs Minelab Manticore – the Real Comparison
These two machines compete directly at similar price points and are the two machines most experienced hunters compare at this level. The Minelab Manticore leads in 2D target ID for iron-heavy relic sites — its dual-axis display gives better dig decisions in dense iron trash. The XP DEUS II leads in wireless audio quality, 65-foot waterproofing for dive detecting, and the ergonomics of a fully cable-free system. Most hunters who buy the Manticore hunt iron-heavy relic ground. Most who buy the DEUS II are relic hunters who also want dive capability or hunters who prioritize audio quality and wireless performance. See Minelab Manticore for the comparison.
