Nokta Jeohunter 3D Dual System Overview

The Nokta Jeohunter 3D Dual System is a VLF detector built for two jobs: locating precious metals and detecting underground cavities such as caves, cellars, tunnels and graves. That is what "Dual System" means. It transmits a sinusoidal wave at 12 to 13 kHz, with manual ground balance, manual sensitivity, automatic noise cancelling, automatic threshold, polyphonic audio tones, a 2 W audio output and a battery gauge. With the T44 and T100 coils the CSTN LCD shows a real-time 3D graph of the signal, sorts metal targets into Gold, Non-ferrous, Steel and Iron, and reports the depth of metals and cavities in centimeters. The T21 small coil has no screen: an LED display on its joystick handle shows cavity signals on the left and metal signals on the right, with two distinct tones. A 14.8 V 3300 mAh lithium polymer battery runs about 8 hours with the T21 and about 4 hours with the T44 or T100. Nokta covers the Jeohunter for 2 years. It was first sold under the Nokta Makro name.

Jeohunter 3D Dual System vs. Invenio: Which Should You Buy?

Both are Nokta deep search systems with cavity detection. The Jeohunter 3D Dual System comes with three coils from 12 x 8.5 inch to 39.5 x 23.5 inch, sorts targets into four metal groups with the T44 and T100 and shows depth in centimeters for both metals and cavities. The Nokta Invenio uses an IPTU positional sensor and a 7 inch screen to draw the target's actual shape, size and depth, with six search modes, a 00 to 99 Target ID, Automatic, Manual and Tracking ground balance, and on the Invenio Pro a choice of 5, 14 or 20 kHz.

We recommend the Jeohunter 3D Dual System when cavities and very large, deep targets are the goal and you want the T100 coil for coverage and the T21 for tight spaces. We recommend the Invenio when you want a picture of the target's shape and a conventional set of motion modes for swinging the coil between scans.

Nokta Jeohunter 3D Dual System, Best For:

  • Cavity searches: caves, cellars, tunnels and other voids, with depth shown in centimeters
  • Deep cache searches with the T100 coil, which Nokta built to ignore small trash such as pull-tabs and nails
  • Walls, hillsides and tight spaces with the T21 coil
  • Experienced detectorists who want three coils for three jobs in one system

Nokta Invenio, Best For:

  • Hunters who want a 3D image of the target's shape and size before digging
  • Mixed hunting that switches between motion modes and slow imaging scans
  • Frequency choice on the Invenio Pro for larger or smaller targets

The Three-Coil System: Depth, Coverage and Tight Spaces

The Jeohunter ships with a coil for each job:

  • T100 deep coil, 100 x 60 cm (39.5 x 23.5 inch): for deep targets and large areas; Nokta designed it to ignore small trash such as pull-tabs and nails. It shows the 3D graph, metal groups, cavities and depth.
  • T44 general coil, 44 x 36 cm (17.5 x 14 inch): the everyday coil, with the same 3D graph, four metal groups, cavity detection and depth readout as the T100.
  • T21 small coil, 21 x 31.5 cm (12 x 8.5 inch): for coins, walls, hillsides and tight spaces. It sorts targets into Non-ferrous, Ferrous and Steel, detects cavities, and signals through the LED display and two tones on its joystick handle, without a depth readout.

The T21 and T44 run on a 90 to 150 cm (35 to 59 inch) stem. The T21 has a 6.3 mm headphone jack with a 3.5 mm adapter.

Where the Jeohunter Works Best and Its Limits

The Nokta Jeohunter 3D Dual System metal detector is professional deep search equipment for experienced detectorists: old homesteads, cache searches, cellars and voids, and survey-style projects where target type and cavity detection matter more than speed. It is not a park or beach detector, and we recommend a general-purpose detector for someone new to the hobby. Plan field time around the battery: about 4 hours with the T44 or T100 screen coils, about 8 hours with the T21. Ground balance and sensitivity are manual, so expect to set them for each site. Nokta lists a weight of 8.45 kg (18.6 lb) with the T100, so it is for covering ground deliberately, not for long sweeps. We recommend starting with the T44 to learn how targets and cavities read on the 3D graph before moving to the T100.

What's in the Box and Accessories

The Jeohunter 3D Dual System box holds the system box, the T44 and T21 coils with their shafts, the T100 coil, a leather system box bag, a T100 coil bag, the Jeohunter 3D carrying bag, AC and car chargers, the lithium polymer battery, headphones and the user manual. The Jeohunter collection also holds Koss headphones with a 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) jack and the digital Jeohunter 3D Dual manual, quick guide and basic manual, so you can read how the system works before you buy.

Nokta Invenio vs. Invenio Pro vs. Jeohunter 3D Dual System vs. Deephunter 3D PRO Comparison

All four are Nokta VLF deep search systems with cavity detection and a 2-year warranty. They differ in how they show the target, the frequencies they run, the coils in the box and how they are powered.
