Nokta Legend 2: What You Need to Know Before You Buy

The Nokta Legend 2 is a simultaneous multi-frequency (SMF) metal detector tuned for coins, relics, jewelry and small gold. It runs three multi-frequency profiles (M1, M2, M3) plus five selectable single frequencies at 4, 10, 15, 20 and 40 kHz, drives 99 Target IDs with 7 tone options, and ships IP68 rated to 5 m / 16 ft. The detector weighs 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg) including the stock 11-inch LD28 DD coil, telescopes from 25 to 57 inches on a three-section carbon-fiber shaft, and runs on an internal 6700 mAh lithium-ion battery rated for up to 33% longer runtime than the original Legend. Five search modes cover the major hunt types: Park, Field, Beach, Relic and Gold. Relic mode is new for the Legend 2.

If you came up on the original Legend or earlier Nokta Makro detectors like the Anfibio or Multi Kruzer, the controls will feel familiar; the 99-point Target ID resolution, Relic mode and on-screen ID in Pinpoint are the upgrades worth the swap.

Coin & Relic Hunting

In Park and Field, fast recovery speed and 99-point ID resolution separate close targets in nail-littered ground. The new Relic mode tunes the response for brass, copper and iron-adjacent non-ferrous targets common at colonial and Civil War sites. The stock 11-inch LD28 DD reaches deep silver in moderate soil; swap to the 8" x 5.5" LD21 DD for tight target separation in cellar holes and iron-heavy yards.

Beach & Water Hunting

Simultaneous multi-frequency holds stable Target IDs in wet salt sand where single-frequency detectors lock up. Beach mode handles salt mineralization and black sand without false-signaling. The IP68 housing covers wading, surf hunting and shallow snorkeling to 16 ft, and vibration alert works underwater. Bone conduction headphone compatibility is new for the Legend 2 and worth the upgrade for divers running a hood.

Coils & Accessories for the Nokta Legend 2

The Legend 2 uses Nokta's new LD-series waterproof DD search coils. Original Legend LG-series coils are not compatible. Current LD-series options:

• LD21 8" x 5.5" waterproof DD - tight target separation in trash, cellar holes and iron-dense sites
• LD22 9" waterproof DD - general-purpose hunting and mild gold ground
• LD28 11" waterproof DD - stock coil, balances depth and ground coverage
• LD38 15" x 12" waterproof DD - cache and field depth on open ground

All LD coils ship with mounting hardware and are hot-swappable in the field. Audio options include the included Bluetooth aptX Low Latency wireless headphones, Nokta waterproof wired headphones, and the new bone conduction set. A 6.3 mm (1/4-inch) adapter is available for third-party wired headphones. An external waterproof battery is sold separately for cold-weather hunts that drain internal cells faster.
