What Is the Nokta Legend 2?
The Nokta Legend 2 is a simultaneous multi-frequency (SMF) metal detector tuned for coins, relics, jewelry and small gold. It runs three multi-frequency profiles (M1, M2, M3) plus five selectable single frequencies at 4, 10, 15, 20 and 40 kHz, drives 99 Target IDs with 7 tone options, and ships IP68 rated to 5 m / 16 ft. The detector weighs 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg) including the stock 11-inch LD28 DD coil, telescopes from 25 to 57 inches on a three-section carbon-fiber shaft, and runs on an internal 6700 mAh lithium-ion battery rated for up to 33% longer runtime than the original Legend. Five search modes cover the major hunt types: Park, Field, Beach, Relic and Gold — and Relic mode is new for the Legend 2. Released in early 2026 as the successor to the original Legend, the Legend 2 moves the platform to the new LD-series coil ecosystem and brings it in line with Nokta's current Score and Triple Score lineup.
Who the Legend 2 Is Built For
Coin and relic detectorists working trashy parks, old home sites and iron-heavy farm fields. Saltwater beach hunters who need stable Target IDs in wet sand and surf. Prospectors chasing small nuggets in mild-to-moderate gold ground who want one machine instead of two. A 19-channel manual frequency shift and three ground balance modes (auto, manual, tracking) handle EMI and mineralization without constant retuning. If you came up on the original Legend or earlier Nokta Makro detectors like the Anfibio or Multi Kruzer, the controls will feel familiar; the 99-point Target ID resolution, Relic mode and on-screen ID in Pinpoint are the upgrades worth the swap.
Coin & Relic Hunting
In Park and Field, fast recovery speed and 99-point ID resolution separate close targets in nail-littered ground. The new Relic mode tunes the response for brass, copper and iron-adjacent non-ferrous targets common at colonial and Civil War sites. The stock 11-inch LD28 DD reaches deep silver in moderate soil; swap to the included 8"×5.5" LD21 DD for tight target separation in cellar holes and iron-heavy yards — with the Legend 2's two-coil base package, both site types are covered on day one.
Beach & Water Hunting
Simultaneous multi-frequency holds stable Target IDs in wet salt sand where single-frequency detectors lock up. Beach mode handles salt mineralization and black sand without false-signaling. The IP68 housing covers wading, surf hunting and shallow snorkeling to 16 ft, and vibration alert works underwater. Bone conduction headphone compatibility is new for the Legend 2 and worth the upgrade for divers running a hood.
Nokta Legend 2 Price & What's Included
The Nokta Legend 2 starts at $999 — and unlike most detectors in this class, the base package is a genuine two-coil setup: the 11-inch LD28 DD for depth and ground coverage, plus the 8"×5.5" LD21 DD for target separation in trashy, iron-heavy ground. Also in the box: Bluetooth aptX Low Latency wireless headphones, the three-section carbon-fiber shaft, USB charging cable and quick-start guide.
Legend 2 pricing is consistent across authorized US dealers, so the real difference between sellers is what ships in the box and who answers the phone afterward. We also stock Legend 2 bundles that add pinpointers, digging tools, carry bags and spare coils — current package offers and inclusions are shown on each product listing. Every unit includes the full 3-year Nokta manufacturer warranty, qualifies for wired and wireless firmware updates and Nokta's US repair network, and orders over $99 ship free in the continental US.
Legend 2 vs. the Original Legend: Which Should You Buy?
Choose the Legend 2 if you hunt trash-heavy or EMI-challenging environments, want the new Relic mode and 99-point Target ID resolution, prefer the lighter build for long hunts, or want the LD-series coil lineup and wireless firmware updates. If you're upgrading from a non-SMF machine, there's no reason to buy into the older platform today.
Stick with the original Legend if you already own the 2023 enhanced model and are happy with its performance, or you've invested in LG-series coils — they are not compatible with the Legend 2. The original remains the best performance-per-dollar machine in Nokta's multi-frequency lineup for standard parks and fields; browse the original Legend collection.

Coils & Accessories for the Nokta Legend 2
The Legend 2 uses Nokta's new LD-series waterproof DD search coils. Original Legend LG-series coils are not compatible. Current LD-series options:
- LD21 8" x 5.5" waterproof DD — tight target separation in trash, cellar holes and iron-dense sites (included in the base package)
- LD22 9" waterproof DD — general-purpose hunting and mild gold ground
- LD28 11" waterproof DD — stock coil, balances depth and ground coverage
- LD38 15" x 12" waterproof DD — cache and field depth on open ground
All LD coils ship with mounting hardware and are hot-swappable in the field. Audio options include the included Bluetooth aptX Low Latency wireless headphones, Nokta waterproof wired headphones, and the new bone conduction set. A 6.3 mm (1/4-inch) adapter is available for third-party wired headphones. An external waterproof battery is sold separately for cold-weather hunts that drain internal cells faster. Replacement carbon-fiber middle and lower shafts, armrests, coil covers and shaft latch repair kits are stocked through authorized dealers. Nokta Legend 2 FAQs
When was the Nokta Legend 2 released?
The Legend 2 was released in early 2026 as the successor to the original Nokta Legend. It launched alongside Nokta's new LD-series coil ecosystem and is the current-generation multi-frequency machine in the Nokta lineup.
What's included with the Nokta Legend 2? Does it really come with two coils?
Yes — the standard $999 package includes both the 11" LD28 DD coil and the 8"×5.5" LD21 DD coil, plus Bluetooth aptX Low Latency wireless headphones, the carbon-fiber shaft, USB charging cable and quick-start guide. Exact inclusions for each bundle are listed on the individual product pages.
Is the Nokta Legend 2 good for beginners?
Yes — the preset Park, Field, Beach, Relic and Gold modes make it a turn-on-and-go machine, while the 99-point Target IDs, manual ground balance and frequency shift give you room to grow for years. It costs more than a typical starter detector, but it's a machine you won't outgrow; if you're starting on a smaller budget, see our beginner and intermediate detectors.
Do original Legend (LG-series) coils fit the Legend 2?
No. The Legend 2 uses the new LD-series coils (LD21, LD22, LD28, LD38) and is not compatible with the original Legend's LG-series coils. If you own a set of LG coils, factor that into your upgrade decision — or see our Legend vs Legend 2 comparison for whether the upgrade is worth it in your ground.
Is the Nokta Legend 2 waterproof?
Fully — the entire detector is IP68 rated and submersible to 5 meters (16 feet), including the control housing. That covers wading, surf hunting and shallow snorkeling. Vibration alert works underwater, and waterproof wired and bone-conduction headphone options are available for hunting below the surface.
Are there Legend 2 bundle deals available?
Yes — we stock Legend 2 packages that pair the detector with pinpointers, spare coils, carry bags and digging tools, and manufacturer promotions are applied to the relevant listings when Nokta runs them. Current pricing, inclusions and any active offers are always shown on each product listing on this page.
