Where the Q30 Sits in the Quest Lineup

The Q30 is Quest's submersible mid-range VLF, running 14 kHz with four hunt modes, 25-segment signal readout and adjustable threshold, tones and FeSen. The Q30+ is the same detector shipped with Quest Wirefree Lite headphones, and that is the version most hunters buy today. Both share coils, covers and parts with the Q60, so anything on this page marked Q30/Q30+/Q60 fits all three machines. If you want a land-focused package with a bigger included kit instead, look at the Quest Q40.

Waterproof to 5 Meters, Built for Wet Sand

Quest rates the Q30 waterproof to 5 meters, and the vibration mode plus optional 5 m waterproof headphones make it a genuine shallow-water machine rather than a splash-resistant one. Beach mode and improved saltwater stability keep it usable on wet salt sand, which is where most single-frequency VLFs in this class start falsing. All Q30-series coils are epoxy-filled and waterproof.
