Nokta Gold Kruzer Metal Detector

The Nokta Gold Kruzer is a 61 kHz VLF gold metal detector, IP68 rated and fully submersible to 5 m (16.4 ft), that ships with two waterproof coils: the GK26C 10 x 5.5 inch concentric and the GK19 7.5 x 4 inch DD. It weighs 1.4 kg (3 lb) with coil and battery and comes with 2.4 GHz wireless headphones. It suits prospectors working creeks, dry washes and hot-rock ground for small gold, and detectorists who want a light high-frequency machine for small jewelry and relics. Our Nokta Gold Kruzer collection has the detector plus the coils, covers, shafts, headphones and batteries that fit it.

Nokta Gold Kruzer Metal Detector Overview

The Nokta Gold Kruzer is a single-frequency VLF metal detector running at 61 kHz, a high frequency Nokta designed for gold and micro jewelry, with good performance in harsh ground and among hot rocks. It has four search modes (Gen, an all metal mode, plus Fast, Boost and Micro), Automatic, Manual and Tracking ground balance, and Nokta's E.U.D. (Extra Underground Depth) function for small nuggets masked by hot rocks or sitting at fringe depth. Pinpoint and frequency shift are built in. The whole detector is IP68 rated: fully submersible to 5 m (16.4 ft) and protected from dust. It runs on a built-in 3700 mAh lithium polymer battery for up to 19 hours, charged with the supplied cable or a USB power bank. Nokta covers the Gold Kruzer for 2 years.

Gold Kruzer vs. Magnetar 9000: Which Should You Buy?

Both are Nokta gold detectors, built on different technology. The Gold Kruzer is a 61 kHz VLF with target ID, IP68 to 5 m (16.4 ft), at 1.4 kg (3 lb) with two coils in the box. The Nokta Magnetar 9000 is a pulse induction detector with two DRC coils, waterproof to 3 m (10 ft). The comparison table further down this page sets the two side by side.

We recommend the Gold Kruzer for small gold in creeks, washes and tailings where you want target ID to skip iron trash, and for anyone who wants a light detector they can take fully under water. We recommend the Magnetar 9000 when your goldfield ground is so mineralized that a VLF struggles, and you are ready to carry more weight and dig more targets.

Nokta Gold Kruzer, Best For:

  • Prospectors chasing small nuggets in creek gravels, dry washes and bedrock cracks
  • Hot-rock ground where the E.U.D. function and Tracking ground balance help
  • Fresh-water creek crossings and wading, thanks to the IP68 5 m (16.4 ft) rating
  • Relic and small jewelry hunters who want iron audio and tone break on a light 61 kHz machine

Nokta Magnetar 9000, Best For:

  • Heavily mineralized goldfields where a pulse induction detector suits the ground
  • Prospectors who want two DRC coils and two battery packs in the box
  • Detectorists who prefer a longer 3-year warranty on a dedicated gold machine

Key Features That Matter in the Field

The 61 kHz operating frequency is the reason to buy a Gold Kruzer: Nokta built it for small gold and micro jewelry. Ground balance has three options, so you can lock it on a productive patch with Manual, let Automatic set it, or switch to Tracking so it follows changing mineralization across a wash. Iron audio and tone break in Micro mode let you hear iron as its own tone without giving up the non-ferrous targets, and the E.U.D. function is there for faint signals that hot rocks would otherwise hide. The control box and both coils are rated IP68 to 5 m (16.4 ft), so rain and creek water are not a concern. The 2.4 GHz wireless headphones in the box run with no latency according to Nokta and keep a cable out of the brush. Firmware can be updated over USB from a PC. The backlit custom LCD stays readable at dawn and dusk.

Where the Gold Kruzer Works Best and Its Limits

The Nokta Gold Kruzer metal detector is at home on gold country ground: creek beds, dry washes, old placer workings and hot-rock patches. We recommend starting with the GK19 7.5 x 4 inch DD coil in trashy or tight ground, and switching to the GK26C 10 x 5.5 inch concentric on open, cleaner patches. The 2.4 GHz wireless headphones are not waterproof and cannot be used under water, so take them off before you put the detector in, or switch to waterproof headphones for underwater listening. The Gold Kruzer has no vibration alert, so under water you rely on headphones. We do not recommend a 61 kHz VLF for salt water beaches; for wet salt sand a multi-frequency detector such as the Nokta Triple Score with its Beach mode is the better tool. Pair the Gold Kruzer with a pinpointer to recover small targets from gravel faster.

Coils and Accessories That Fit the Nokta Gold Kruzer

Nokta lists three waterproof coils for the Gold Kruzer: the GK19 7.5 x 4 inch DD and the GK26C 10 x 5.5 inch concentric that ship with the detector, and the GK40 15.5 x 13 inch DD for covering more ground in cleaner soil. Replacement coil covers for the Gold Kruzer coils are in this collection.

The standard package holds the system box, the GK26C coil and cover, the GK19 coil and cover, 2.4 GHz wireless headphones (Green Series), a USB charging and data cable and the user manual. The Gold Kruzer collection also holds the Nokta waterproof headphones for underwater use, spare 2.4 GHz Green Edition wireless headphones, the 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) headphone adapter, the waterproof 4 x AA external battery pack with its mounting hardware and stand, the armrest and strap, upper S shaft, aluminum middle shafts, carbon fiber lower shaft, the USB charging cable, the digital manual and the Nokta DetectoBag backpack and universal carrying bag. Our guide to pairing the Nokta wireless headphones to the Kruzer walks through the setup.
