The AlgoForce E1500 Plus is a pulse induction gold detector designed and assembled in Australia by AlgoForce. Its Ultra-Fine PI technology is built for gold nuggets in mineralized goldfields, and it adds a conductive target ID (0 to 99) in pinpoint mode, four detection modes and automatic ground balance on dual ground balanced channels. The control box and three-piece carbon fiber shaft weigh under 850 g (1.9 lb) without a coil or power bank, and AlgoForce calls the E1500 Plus the lightest pulse induction gold detector available. It runs from an external 5 V USB power bank and takes GPX 4500/5000 aftermarket mono coils.

How the E1500 Plus is set up
Detection modes: AlgoForce calls Ultra-Fine the go-to choice for gold nuggets of all sizes. Fine reduces sensitivity to mineralized soil, Normal reduces sensitivity to highly mineralized soil, and Large is reserved for extremely mineralized soil with high levels of wet salt.
Soil types: Hot is recommended for goldfields and is where ground balancing applies. Mild is for extremely low mineralized ground, with ground balance disabled. Beach rejects seawater signals aggressively and needs no ground balance.
User modes: Standard comes with a seven-step quick start and fixes the soil type to Hot. Intermediate opens soil type selection, and Advanced gives full control, including the ground mineralization and signal strength readouts.
Ground balance: hold the ground balance button and pump the coil for Auto Ground Balance.
Target ID: in pinpoint, the screen shows a conductive target ID from 0 to 99, which AlgoForce says stays stable even in highly mineralized soil. Higher numbers generally mean a larger or more conductive target, and a fluctuating value can point to an irregular shape.
Noise and coils: Auto Frequency Scan measures interference at each frequency and picks the quietest one, or you choose manually from a noise graph. Coil Selection stores calibration data and size information for up to five coils. A real-time scrolling signal with a threshold line helps you set sensitivity.
Audio and display: loudspeaker and 3.5 mm headphone socket, separate volume, audio threshold and audio tone settings, handle vibration, and a microphone that mixes in ambient sound so you stay aware of your surroundings. The 2.7 inch black and white LCD has an adjustable backlight.
Power: any 5 V USB power bank with at least 3 A output runs the detector, at an average draw of 800 mA. AlgoForce gives approximately 10 to 12 hours from a 10,000 mAh power bank.
Who the AlgoForce E1500 Plus suits
What interests us about the E1500 Plus is that it is a pulse induction gold detector that also gives you target information and modern electronic controls. We would point it at experienced prospectors who search mineralized goldfields and want more information than some traditional PI detectors give.
Pulse induction in hot ground
Picture an Australian style goldfield with highly mineralized soil, where the ground itself throws up a lot of unwanted signals. Pulse induction handles those conditions better than most VLF machines. It does not eliminate every ground signal.
Settings that matter on the E1500 Plus
Ground balance: on a hillside where mineralization changes over a few steps, run Auto Ground Balance again over clean, target-free ground whenever ground noise picks up. Get the detector running stable first, then raise sensitivity.
Target ID: the conductive target ID in pinpoint is what sets the E1500 platform apart. Picture a repeatable signal in a goldfield full of iron debris; the ID can help you decide how to investigate it. We would never treat it as definitive. Small gold, deep targets and difficult ground can all give ambiguous readings, and more information does not remove the need to dig uncertain targets.
Coil compatibility on the E1500 Plus
The E1500 Plus is built around mono PI coils, which suits prospectors who already understand how coil size and winding design affect performance. Do not assume every legacy PI coil will work. Electrical compatibility and the manufacturer's approval matter, and AlgoForce does not recommend DD coils on this detector.
About depth
Detection depth depends on the target, the coil, the mineralization and your settings. We would not describe the E1500 Plus as deeper than every competing PI detector.
Mistakes to avoid with the E1500 Plus
The first mistake is assuming target ID can reliably identify gold. The second is assuming every compatible looking PI coil will work correctly.
Our recommendation on the AlgoForce E1500 Plus
We recommend the E1500 Plus to experienced gold prospectors who want pulse induction with modern controls and extra target information. Its strongest point is a PI gold platform with features that make target evaluation more informative.
Old diggings and open flats with the E1500 Plus
On old diggings full of iron and lead, a pinpointer speeds recovery once the hole is open. For open flats, a larger mono coil from Coiltek or Nugget Finder covers more ground.
