Nokta Carbon Fiber Middle Shaft 17000650 for Simplex, Legend, Score & FINDX

The Nokta Middle Shaft (Carbon Fiber), part 17000650, is the standard-length carbon fiber middle section for the Nokta Simplex LITE, Simplex ULTRA, the original Legend, Score, Double Score, Triple Score, FINDX and FINDX Pro. It sits between the armrest and control box assembly and the lower shaft. Use it to replace a cracked or bent middle shaft, or to swap the stock middle shaft for carbon fiber on models that do not ship with one.

Who the Nokta carbon fiber middle shaft is for

• Owners replacing a damaged middle shaft: this is the genuine Nokta part for these detectors, so it goes in at the same length as the original section.
• Simplex LITE, FINDX and FINDX Pro owners who want carbon fiber: Nokta lists the stock shaft on the Nokta Simplex LITE, Nokta FINDX and Nokta FINDX Pro as aluminum and plastic. Pair this middle shaft with Nokta's carbon fiber lower shaft, part 17000067, to run carbon fiber from the armrest to the coil.
• Nokta Score owners: Nokta specifies carbon fiber on the lower shaft only for the Nokta Score, so this middle shaft gives the Score a full carbon fiber shaft.
• Simplex ULTRA owners: the Nokta Simplex ULTRA already ships with a fully carbon fiber shaft, so for the ULTRA this is a like-for-like replacement, not a weight upgrade.

Look elsewhere if: you are tall and the detector is too short at full extension. Nokta's Longer Middle Shaft (Carbon Fiber), part 17000653, fits the same detectors and adds length. Owners of the Nokta Legend 2 need that detector's own carbon fiber middle shaft, part 17000572.

Does not fit: the Nokta Legend 2, which uses part 17000572, or the older Simplex+. The Nokta Gold Kruzer and Kruzer use their own aluminum middle shaft, part 17000637.

Standard or longer middle shaft?

Choose this standard 17000650 middle shaft if the stock length already suits you and you only need a replacement or a carbon fiber swap. Choose the Longer Middle Shaft (Carbon Fiber), part 17000653, if you run your detector at full extension and still stoop. For the most length, Nokta also makes a Longer Lower Shaft (Carbon Fiber), part 17000652, for the same detectors.

Installing the carbon fiber middle shaft

Open the shaft lock and slide out the lower shaft. Remove the original middle shaft from the armrest and control box assembly, fit the carbon fiber middle shaft in its place, and slide the lower shaft back in. Re-wrap the coil cable along the shaft, then set your length with the lower shaft lock.
