The Pro-Find 20 is compatible with all Minelab detector models, including the Equinox 600, 700, 800, 900, X-Terra Pro, Vanquish series, and older models like the Safari and Explorer. Minelab's DIF (Detector Interference Free) technology eliminates false signals when the pinpointer is switched off, so the Pro-Find 20 won't interfere with your detector's operation regardless of the model you're running. The pinpointer works independently and doesn't require pairing or calibration with your detector.

The Pro-Find 20 is splash-proof, not fully waterproof. It handles rain, wet grass, and damp sand without failure, but it is not rated for submersion in water. If you need a pinpointer for shallow water or beach hunting below the tide line, the Pro-Find 35 (waterproof to 10 feet) or Pro-Find 40 (fully waterproof) are better choices. This bundle includes the Minelab Pro-Find 20 pinpointer, a Serious Detecting black security lanyard for retention during hunts, a semi-rigid belt holster for quick access, and multi-language instructions. The 9-volt PP3 battery is not included and must be purchased separately. The lanyard is a Serious Detecting add-on not included in the standard factory package, and it prevents you from losing the pinpointer when you set it down during recovery or when working in tall grass or sand.

The Pro-Find 20 emits audio tones that intensify in frequency as the probe approaches a buried target, making it easier to zero in on coins, rings, or relics in a hole. The vibration response works simultaneously with the audio, and you can feel the vibration intensity increase as you get closer to the target. When you turn off the audio (or when wind and surf noise drown it out), the vibration mode still operates, so you can pinpoint targets by feel alone. This dual-mode system is faster than visual-only recovery methods in trashy sites or wet sand.

DIF (Detector Interference Free) technology disengages the Pro-Find 20's coil magnetic field when the pinpointer is switched off, eliminating the false signals and noise that other pinpointers cause when they're clipped to your belt near an operating detector. Without DIF, a pinpointer can trigger your detector's threshold or mask faint targets, forcing you to move the pinpointer farther away or turn it off and stow it. With DIF, you can leave the Pro-Find 20 on your belt without interference, speeding up your workflow in high-target-density sites.

The Pro-Find 20 runs for approximately 30 hours on a single 9-volt PP3 alkaline battery. Actual battery life depends on usage patterns, continuous audio and vibration drain the battery faster than intermittent use. Lithium 9-volt batteries can extend runtime in cold weather, where alkaline performance drops. The pinpointer does not include a battery, so purchase a 9-volt PP3 separately before your first hunt.

The Pro-Find 20 does not have ferrous tone ID or adjustable sensitivity. It operates at a fixed sensitivity level and provides a single audio tone for all metal targets, regardless of ferrous or non-ferrous content. If you need ferrous tone ID to distinguish iron trash from non-ferrous targets, or adjustable sensitivity for different ground conditions, consider the Pro-Find 35 or Pro-Find 40, which offer both features. The Pro-Find 20 is a simpler, entry-level pinpointer for detectorists who want fast recovery without advanced discrimination.
