The Raytech AV-18 Ultimate Rock Polisher is an industrial vibratory rock tumbler built for rockhounds and lapidary hobbyists who have outgrown small hobby machines. Its 12 in bowl holds 14 to 16 lbs of rock per load, and the heavy duty drive and suspension are made for the long, continuous runs that stone polishing demands.
What the AV-18 Ultimate Rock Polisher does
Vibratory action works stones against each other and the abrasive much faster than a rotary barrel, and it follows the natural shape of each stone instead of rounding everything into the same pebble. That makes this machine a strong fit for:
- Grinding and polishing baroque gemstones from rough chips
- Smoothing and polishing preformed cabochons and small slabs
- Polishing seashells

What you need to get started
Grits and rocks are not included. Each type of finishing requires its own sequence of steps with the appropriate abrasives and polishes, so plan on a coarse, fine, pre-polish and polish stage for most stones. You can stock up in our rock tumbler grit and polish collection.
Is this the right Raytech for you?
Choose the AV-18 Ultimate Rock Polisher if stones are your main work and you want to run large loads. If you mostly finish metal parts, brass or jewelry, the Adjusta-Vibe 18 for deburring and metal finishing is set up for that job. If 14 lbs of rock is more than you will ever run at once, the Tumble-Vibe 10 kit with a 10 in bowl is a smaller step in. You can also browse the full Raytech lineup of tumblers and media, or see every option in tumblers and cleaning supplies for coins, relics and finds.
