Nokta Metal Detectors

Nokta Detectors is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, where it builds its detectors in its own factory and exports them to more than 100 countries. Its range covers simultaneous multi-frequency detectors for parks, fields, relics and beaches, waterproof single-frequency detectors for first-time buyers, gold detectors, 3D imaging deep-search systems, an underwater pinpointer and scuba detector, and a kids' detector. Serious Detecting is an Authorized Nokta Dealer with a showroom in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Our Nokta collection holds the detectors we sell, from the Simplex and Score series through the Legend 2 to the Gold Kruzer and Magnetar 9000, plus the coils, pinpointers, headphones, batteries and bags that fit them.

Nokta Metal Detector Families Explained

Nokta's range falls into four groups: simultaneous multi-frequency detectors, entry and relic detectors, gold detectors, and deep-search and underwater systems. Pick the family first and the model second.

Simultaneous multi-frequency: Legend and Score

Nokta calls its multi-frequency technology SMF, for simultaneous multi-frequency: the detector transmits several frequencies at once, which helps on wet salt sand and in mineralized ground where a single frequency struggles. The Legend 2 is the top of this group. It runs SMF plus single frequencies of 4, 10, 15, 20 and 40 kHz, has Park, Field, Beach, Relic and Gold modes and is IP68 waterproof to 5 m (16 ft). It ships with the LD28 11 inch and LD21 8 x 5.5 inch coils and takes wired and wireless firmware updates from a phone or laptop. The Legend Pro Pack runs SMF plus the same five single frequencies and is IP68 waterproof to 5 m (16 ft).

The Score, Double Score and Triple Score Pro Pack share the SMF engine, a 60 target ID scale, the SC30 12 x 9 inch coil, a weight of 2.6 lb (1.2 kg) and IP68 waterproofing to 5 m (16 ft). Stepping up adds controls: the Double Score adds adjustable ground balance, recovery speed and an iron filter, and the Triple Score Pro Pack adds a Relic mode, 4 and 20 kHz single frequencies, a second coil and Bluetooth headphones in the box.

Simplex, FINDX Pro, Impact PRO and Midi Hoard

The Simplex ULTRA and Simplex LITE run at 15 kHz and are IP68 waterproof to 5 m (16 ft). The ULTRA has the SX28 11 inch coil, a carbon fiber shaft and Bluetooth; the LITE has the SX24 9.5 x 6 inch coil. The FINDX Pro also runs at 15 kHz, is IP68 waterproof to 5 m (16 ft), has four search modes (Field, Park, Beach and Jewelry), and comes with headphones, a digger and a carrying bag. The Impact PRO has three operating frequencies (5, 14 and 20 kHz), 12 search modes and two waterproof DD coils in the box (IM28 11 x 7 inch and IM19 7.5 x 4 inch). For young detectorists, the Midi Hoard runs at 15 kHz, is IP68 waterproof to 1 m (3.3 ft) and suits ages 8 to 12 and up.

Gold detectors: Gold Kruzer and Magnetar 9000

The Gold Kruzer is a 61 kHz VLF gold detector, IP68 waterproof to 5 m (16 ft), with a concentric and a DD coil in the box. The Magnetar 9000 is Nokta's pulse induction gold detector for harsh, mineralized goldfield ground. It is IP68 waterproof to 3 m (10 ft), comes with two waterproof coils (14.5 x 13 inch and 11 x 8 inch) and has an Easy mode with preset settings and an Expert mode with full control.

Deep search and underwater: Invenio, Jeohunter, Deephunter and PulseDive

The Invenio Pro is a 3D imaging detector with a 7 inch color display that runs at 5, 14 and 20 kHz. The Invenio Standard Pack, which runs at 14 kHz, is also in our Invenio collection. The Jeohunter 3D Dual System pairs a 3D system for deep searches with an LED system for shallow recoveries, runs at 12 to 13 kHz, and shows target depth in centimeters with its T44 and T100 coils. The Deephunter 3D PRO combines two modes: a deep seeking mode with color 3D imaging for precious metal treasures, cavities and voids, and a fast motion mode for individual targets and gold nuggets. The PulseDive is a pulse induction pinpointer that converts into a scuba detector and is IP68 waterproof to 60 m (200 ft).

Coils, Pinpointers and Accessories

Each Nokta coil fits only the detectors Nokta lists it for, so check that a coil is listed for your model before you order. The SC24, SC30 and SC35 coils fit all three Score models, and the Legend 2 uses LD-series coils such as the LD28 and LD21 it ships with. The Score series, Legend, Simplex and FINDX detectors take the same Nokta middle and lower shafts, including the carbon fiber versions, and the same armrest and armrest strap, so those parts carry over between them.

For recovery, the Nokta pinpointers cover land and water: the AccuPOINT has a color LCD and Bluetooth and is IP68 waterproof to 3 m (10 ft), and the Nokta Pointer is IP67 waterproof and runs on one 9V battery. For carrying, Nokta lists its Universal Carrying Bag for 14 Nokta detectors and its 38 liter DetectoBag backpack for most of the range; see our Nokta carry bags, pouches and holsters.

Nokta Warranty

Nokta's warranty depends on the model. Nokta lists 3 years for the Legend 2 and Legend Pro Pack, the Score, Double Score and Triple Score Pro Pack, the Simplex ULTRA and Simplex LITE, and the Magnetar 9000, and 2 years for the FINDX Pro, Impact PRO, Gold Kruzer, Invenio, Jeohunter 3D Dual System, Midi Hoard, PulseDive, AccuPOINT and Nokta Pointer. As an Authorized Nokta Dealer, every detector we sell comes with the full manufacturer warranty, and we help you register it with Nokta. Our Nokta warranty guide covers the details.

Should I buy the Nokta Legend 2 or a Nokta Score series detector?

Buy the Nokta Legend 2 if you want one detector with the most settings for park, beach, relic and gold sites, and a Score series detector if you want simultaneous multi-frequency with simpler controls. The Legend 2 runs multi-frequency plus 4, 10, 15, 20 and 40 kHz, has Park, Field, Beach, Relic and Gold modes and comes with the LD28 and LD21 coils and Bluetooth aptX Low Latency headphones. The Score, Double Score and Triple Score Pro Pack share multi-frequency, a 60 target ID scale and the SC30 12 x 9 inch coil, and each step adds controls. All are IP68 waterproof to 5 m (16 ft) with a 3-year Nokta warranty.

What is the best Nokta metal detector for beginners?

For most beginners, we recommend the Nokta Simplex ULTRA: it runs at 15 kHz, is IP68 waterproof to 5 m (16 ft), has Bluetooth and an 11 inch coil, and works in parks, fields and on beaches. If you want multi-frequency from the start, the Nokta Score keeps the controls simple with three preset search modes. The Simplex LITE and FINDX Pro are other first detectors, and the FINDX Pro comes with headphones, a digger and a carrying bag. For a child, look at the Midi Hoard.

Do Nokta metal detectors get firmware updates?

Yes, many Nokta metal detectors take firmware updates. Nokta lists wired and wireless updates from a phone or laptop for the Nokta Legend 2, and online updates over a PC USB connection for the Impact PRO. For the Impact PRO, Nokta notes that an update returns the detector to its factory settings, so write down your custom settings first. See our Nokta firmware updates page for the current versions and how to install them.

Does Nokta make a detector that competes with the XP DEUS II?

Yes, the Nokta Legend 2 is Nokta's closest match to the XP DEUS II. Both are simultaneous multi-frequency detectors for park, beach and relic hunting, and both are waterproof. The Legend 2 is IP68 waterproof to 5 m (16 ft) and comes with two coils, the LD28 and LD21, and Bluetooth aptX Low Latency headphones. XP rates the DEUS II to 20 m (65 ft), so we recommend the DEUS II for diving and the Legend 2 for hunters who stay in wading depth.
