Genuine White's Parts, While They Last

When a manufacturer closes, its machines don't stop working. They stop being supported. We bought deep on White's parts and still stock the components that actually fail: penlight and 8-cell battery holders for the V-series, DFX, XLT, MXT, and M6, the MX Sport battery holder, wall chargers, the 4-ohm replacement speaker, control-box O-ring seals for the Surf Master PI and Beach Hunter ID, rod sections, and the small hardware (thumb nuts, jack covers) that disappears first. Is White's Electronics still in business?

No, White's Electronics is no longer in business. The company, based in Sweet Home, Oregon, stopped operating in 2020, and Garrett acquired its assets. No new White's metal detectors are being made, so existing machines depend on the genuine parts still in stock. The parts that wear out first are battery holders, chargers, speakers and O-ring seals, so those are the ones worth keeping a spare of.

Can I still get parts for my White's metal detector?

Yes, you can still get genuine White's parts while remaining stock lasts. This collection is our complete remaining inventory: battery holders, chargers, speakers, O-ring seals, rod sections and small hardware for the V-series, DFX, XLT, MXT, M6, MX Sport, Surf Master PI and Beach Hunter ID. Check that the listing names your model before you order. There is no restock once a part sells out, so when a listing shows only a few units left, that is the last of it.

Where can I find a manual for an old White's detector?

What's the modern equivalent of my White's MXT or DFX?

The modern equivalent of a White's MXT or M6 is a mid-range simultaneous multi-frequency detector such as the Minelab Vanquish 360, 460 or 560, or the Minelab Equinox 900. They cover the same all-purpose hunting with better target ID. For a White's DFX or Spectra V3i, the modern equivalent is the current Minelab lineup, which carried forward the multi-frequency approach those machines pioneered. If you ran a White's TDI, Garrett carried White's pulse induction forward. Tell us your model and where you hunt, and we will recommend the closest match, not the most expensive one.
