The Alpha 2000 keeps the control set minimal but still shows category target ID and a numeric depth indicator, so a new hunter learns to read targets instead of digging everything blind. The 8 in concentric coil is waterproof, so wet grass, puddles and creek-edge rinses are no threat, though the control box itself needs to stay dry. Depth for its class is genuinely good, which is most of what matters in a first machine backed by a five-year warranty.
Where the Alpha Sits in the Greek Series
Teknetics built the Greek series as a ladder: Alpha 2000, Delta 4000, Gamma 6000 and Omega 8500 share a housing family and a coil ecosystem, with each step adding control. When you outgrow preset ground handling, the Gamma 6000 adds manual and computerized ground balancing, 80-level discrimination and four audio tones on the same platform. Aftermarket Coils Widen Its Range
Because the Greek series shares coil compatibility, the Alpha 2000 takes serious aftermarket glass: the CORS Scout 12.5x8.5 in DD for iron-littered parks, the CORS Detonation 13x14 in DD and CORS Fire 15 in DD for depth, and the Mars Discovery 13 in DD as a balanced all-rounder.
