Water Resistant Metal Detectors

Water resistant means the detector shrugs off rain, spray and damp ground, but no part of it is rated for submersion. Get caught in a downpour and the machine is fine; dunk the coil in a creek and you have a warranty conversation. This rating is common on lightweight prospecting detectors and older designs where the coil housing was never sealed for immersion. If any part of your hunting involves water contact rather than weather, choose a waterproof coil or a fully waterproof machine instead.
