The Blue Bowl Concentrator Kit is a water-powered cleanup system for fine gold. It takes concentrates you have already run through a pan, sluice or dredge and separates the gold in a controlled water vortex, recovering particles as fine as talcum powder that a hand pan tends to lose. This version of the kit adds leg levelers that mount the bowl on a standard 5-gallon bucket and a storage vial for the gold you recover. It suits prospectors who bring home buckets of black sand concentrates and want to finish them without hours of hand panning.
Who the Blue Bowl Concentrator Kit Is For
The Blue Bowl is a final-stage tool. It works on classified concentrates, not raw gravel or bulk beach sand. If you are processing large volumes of unconcentrated material, a Gold Cube concentrator is the better first pass, and the Blue Bowl then cleans up what the Gold Cube catches. If you only pan a few times a season and recover mostly coarse gold, a good gold pan may be all you need.
Key Features of the Blue Bowl Concentrator Kit
- Vortex separation for flour gold: water enters the bowl from the side and spins lighter sand up and over the rim while dense gold stays at the bottom around the center cone, so fine gold that floats out of a pan stays put.
- 750 GPH 12-volt pump: the pump recirculates water from your bucket and runs from any 12-volt battery through the included clips, so you can work at home, at camp or on a tailgate with no stream nearby.
- Leg levelers for a 5-gallon bucket: the Blue Bowl only separates properly when it sits dead level, and the adjustable legs let you level it on an uneven tailgate or ground.
- Control valve: lets you set the water flow to suit the mesh size you are feeding, which is the main adjustment for keeping fine gold in the bowl.
- Storage vial: gives you somewhere to keep the finished gold at the end of a cleanup session.
- Light enough to pack: the complete kit weighs about 5 lbs, so it fits in a camp box alongside your detecting or sluicing gear.

Parts and Accessories That Fit
Replacement bowls, pumps, hoses, valve fittings and small parts kits for the Blue Bowl are stocked separately in our Blue Bowl collection. To screen concentrates to a consistent size before feeding the bowl, see our gold classifiers and sifters.
Where the Blue Bowl Works Well and Where It Does Not
The Blue Bowl Concentrator works well on black sand concentrates classified to at least 30 mesh, and down to 50 or 100 mesh when you are chasing micro-fine gold. Feed it a spoonful at a time, and it reduces a can of concentrates to a small amount of gold-rich material you can finish in a pan.
The Blue Bowl Concentrator does not work well on unclassified material. Mixed particle sizes upset the water balance and let fine gold wash out with the overflow. It is also slow on high volumes, because it is designed for careful cleanup, not bulk processing.
How This Blue Bowl Kit Differs from the Other Blue Bowl Kits
All of our Blue Bowl concentrator kits are built around the same bowl and 750 GPH 12-volt pump. This kit includes the leg levelers for bucket mounting and a storage vial. Other Blue Bowl packages leave out the vial, or add a snuffer bottle for picking up fine gold. If you just need the bowl, see the bowl-only options in the Blue Bowl collection. Note: 5-gallon bucket and battery not included. Hose and control valve colors may vary from photos.
