The CORS Fire is a 15 in (38 cm) round Double-D search coil built for the original Teknetics Eurotek. It is a large-coil upgrade for covering open ground and reaching deeper than the stock coil, and it is the coil to pick for plowed fields, pasture and beaches where targets are spread out. It is not the coil for the Eurotek Pro, which uses a different connector; the Eurotek Pro, Omega, Gamma, Delta and Alpha take the separate CORS Fire listing in our CORS Labs coil collection. The coil ships with its cover fitted and the mounting kit in the box.

Who the CORS Fire is for, and who should buy a different coil

Buy the Fire if you own an original Eurotek and hunt open sites where you want more ground per sweep and more depth on coin and relic sized targets. Skip it if most of your hunting is trashy parks or iron-heavy house sites: a 15 in coil blends close targets together, and the stock coil or a smaller CORS coil such as the Shrew or Fortune will separate them better. If you own a Eurotek Pro, buy the Eurotek Pro version of this coil instead; the two Teknetics models do not share coils. For other brands, see the full line in our metal detector search coils collection.

Key features and what they mean in use

    • 15 in round Double-D. The DD field runs as a narrow blade front to back, so a big coil still gives a usable pinpoint and runs steadier over mineralized ground than a concentric coil the same size.
    • 25.3 oz (720 g) without the cover. Noticeably heavier than the stock coil; plan on shorter sessions or a bungee-style harness if you swing for hours.
    • Completely waterproof. CORS seals the coil body and the cable strain relief, so wet sand and shallow water are fine. CORS does not publish a depth rating for submersion.
    • Composite wearing face. CORS builds the bottom face so the coil can be run without a cover if you choose; the cover is included and fitted anyway.
    • Impact-resistant, UV-stabilized shell and a heavy mounting bracket. Built for field abuse rather than careful handling.
    • Screw-on connector with plated contacts and a protective cap. The cap keeps dirt out of the connector when the coil is off the detector.

    What is in the box

    • CORS Fire 15 in DD search coil for the Teknetics Eurotek, cover fitted
    • Fixing bolt with two rubber rings
    • Velcro cable strap
    • Protective connector cap
    • CORS warranty card

Not included: a detector or lower rod. Coil color may vary from the photo.

    Compatibility

This coil fits the original Teknetics Eurotek only. The Eurotek Pro, Omega 8500, Gamma 6000, Delta 4000 and Alpha 2000 use a different connector and need the Eurotek Pro version of the CORS Fire. If you are not sure which Eurotek you have, send us a photo of the coil plug before ordering and we will confirm.

Where the Fire works well and where it does not

    Open fields and pasture

This is the coil's purpose. The 15 in sweep covers plowed fields and pasture far faster than the stock coil, and the larger field reaches deeper on coins, buttons and relics that have sunk past the stock coil's range.

    Beaches

Dry sand and wet sand are both fine; the coil is sealed. Expect the usual large-coil tradeoff in the wet: more coverage per pass, but a single-frequency detector like the Eurotek will still false on salt, so keep sensitivity moderate.

    Trashy parks and iron sites

Not the Fire's job. A 15 in coil reads several close targets as one signal and masks small non-ferrous finds next to iron. Use the stock coil or a small CORS coil there.

    Weight on long sessions

At 25.3 oz the Fire adds real weight to the end of the rod. It is a coil you put on for a specific field, not one most people leave on all season.

How the Fire differs from the other CORS coils for the Eurotek

CORS Giant (15x17 in): CORS's largest coil, for maximum depth and coverage on open ground; heavier still.

CORS Fire (15 in, this coil): the large round coil for depth and coverage with a little less bulk than the Giant.

CORS Strike (12x13 in) and Butterfly (11x12 in): mid-size coils that give up some depth for better handling and separation.

CORS Fortune (9.5x5.5 in) and Shrew (6.5x3.5 in): small coils for trash and tight spots.

Will the CORS Fire 15 in coil for the Eurotek fit my Teknetics Eurotek Pro?

No. This CORS Fire 15 in coil is made for the original Teknetics Eurotek only, and the Eurotek Pro uses a different connector. CORS sells the Fire in a separate Eurotek Pro version that also fits the Omega 8500, Gamma 6000, Delta 4000 and Alpha 2000. If you are not sure which Eurotek you own, compare the plug on your stock coil with the photos on each listing or send us a picture before you order. Both versions are in our CORS Labs coil collection.

Is the CORS Fire 15 in coil too big for parks and trashy sites on the Eurotek?

For most parks and trashy sites, yes, the CORS Fire 15 in coil is too big. A 15 in Double-D reads targets that sit a few inches apart as one signal and masks small coins next to iron, so you walk past finds the stock coil would have separated. The Fire earns its place on plowed fields, pasture and beaches where targets are spread out and you want more depth and more ground per sweep. For trash, stay with the stock coil or go smaller; the CORS Shrew and Fortune are the small coils in the same family. See the range in our metal detector search coils collection.

    Answered by Richard T. · October 2026

How much heavier is the CORS Fire coil than the stock Eurotek coil, and does it need a cover?

The CORS Fire coil weighs 25.3 oz (720 g) without its cover, which is a real step up from a stock coil and the main reason most people fit it for a specific field rather than leaving it on all season. A bungee harness takes the weight off your arm on long sessions. As for the cover: CORS builds the bottom face from a composite wearing material so the coil can run without one, but a fitted cover ships on the coil and we recommend leaving it on over rock and gravel. The coil, cover, fixing bolt, rubber rings, velcro strap and connector cap all come in the box. Other Teknetics-compatible coils and accessories are in our Teknetics collection.
