Fisher 10 in Solid Concentric Search Coil for Gold Bug 2 (5-Pin Connector)
This is the 10 x 5 in concentric search coil for Fisher Gold Bug 2 detectors manufactured after July 2026, the units built with the 5-pin plug-in coil connector. If your Gold Bug 2 was built before July 2026 and uses the older screw-on coil collar, you need the 10 in coil for older Gold Bug 2 models instead. Check the connector at the lower rod before ordering, because the two styles do not interchange.
Why Run the 10 in Coil on a Gold Bug 2
The Gold Bug 2 ships with a 6.5 in elliptical coil that is built for tight, trashy, hot-rock ground and the smallest flakes. Stepping up to the 10 in concentric coil trades a little of that micro-nugget edge for real ground coverage and depth on deeper, larger pieces. It is the coil most prospectors reach for when they are gridding open washes, tailings piles and desert flats where the small coil turns an afternoon into a week.
The concentric winding gives the Gold Bug 2 a clean, symmetrical detection field that pinpoints easily and reads mineralization predictably at 71 kHz. Build is solid rather than open frame, so it sheds mud and brush instead of packing it, and the coil is sealed for wet ground and shallow creek work.
