The Groundtech IQ Detect is a compact pulse induction (PI) metal detector built around a fixed 7 inch (18 cm) search coil and engineered for the ground that defeats ordinary machines. Highly mineralized soil, black sand, and saltwater beaches all flatten the performance of standard VLF detectors. The IQ Detect's PI circuit ignores those conditions and locks onto metal. Fully submersible to 9.5 feet (3 meters) with IP68 waterproofing and a dedicated Dive Lock mode, it is the recovery tool for scuba divers, surf hunters, and anyone working the toughest terrain.
Pulse Induction Core for Salt Water and Mineralized Ground
Most detectors use VLF technology, which is thrown off by ground mineralization and salt. They false, chatter, and lose depth exactly where serious hunting happens: the wet sand at the surf line, iron-rich dirt, and old mineralized sites. The IQ Detect runs a 674 Hz pulse induction core that stays stable in those environments, so you keep full sensitivity where other machines give up.
Fixed 7 Inch Coil with No Cable to Flood
The sealed, non-detachable 7 inch (18 cm) PI coil sweeps a wide search area with no cable to snag, loosen, or flood. Sweep the coil low and steady, and the rising LED bar and audio walk you straight to the target.
Quick Ground Balance and 6-Level Signal Bar
The unit auto-calibrates every time it powers on, and a single short press of the power button re-balances the detector to current conditions in real time. The 6-level LED signal indicator climbs bottom to top as you close on the target; all six light when the coil is centered directly over it for true pinpoint accuracy. Three sensitivity levels (Low for indoors or highly mineralized and saltwater ground, Medium as the standard default, High for maximum reach) match the machine to the site, with a color-coded status icon so you always know your setting.
Built for the Dive
IP68 waterproofing rates the IQ Detect for full submersion to 9.5 feet (3 meters). An internal Dive Lock prevents water pressure from triggering the buttons on deep dives. Choose audio, vibration, or combined alerts, switch to Silent (Ghost/Stealth) mode for vibration-only night operations, and light up dark holes with the built-in flashlight. If left idle for 3 minutes, the Lost Alarm sounds and flashes so you can find the unit.
Care and Safety
Never unscrew the rear cap while the device is wet or submerged; water will enter and cause permanent damage. Before every dive, confirm the O-ring is clean, grease-free, and intact and the rear cap is fully tightened. Rinse with fresh tap water after every use in salt water or mud, avoid thinners and harsh chemicals, and store between -4°F and 122°F (-20°C and 50°C).
