This is the genuine Minelab headphone cap with tether and O-ring, part number 3011-0530. It is a replacement for the screw-on cap that covers the headphone socket on the Minelab Gold Monster 2000, Manticore, Vanquish 460 and 560, Equinox 700 and 900, and X-Terra Pro and Elite. It suits owners whose original cap is lost, cracked or no longer closing properly.
Who this cap is for:
Order this part if you own one of the detectors listed below and the headphone socket cap is missing or damaged, or if you want a spare in your pouch before a trip. If you run a Minelab Gold Monster 2000 on its built-in speaker, the headphone socket is covered only by this cap all day, so it is worth keeping in good shape.
If your detector is not on the compatibility list, do not order on appearance alone. Contact us with your model and we will confirm the correct cap.
What each piece does:
- Cap: threads onto the headphone socket and covers it whenever no headphones are plugged in, keeping dirt, sand and moisture off the contacts.
- Tether: keeps the cap attached to the detector while headphones are plugged in, so it is still there when you unplug.
- O-ring: sits between the cap and the socket to close the gap. A flattened or nicked O-ring is the usual reason an old cap stops closing well, so fit the new one with the new cap.
What is in the pack:
- 1 headphone cap with attached tether
- 1 O-ring
Headphones and tools are not included.
Compatibility:
- Minelab Gold Monster 2000
- Minelab Manticore
- Minelab Vanquish 460
- Minelab Vanquish 560
- Minelab Equinox 700
- Minelab Equinox 900
- Minelab X-Terra Pro
- Minelab X-Terra Elite
Where it matters most:
The cap earns its place on beaches, in riverbeds and in dry, dusty gold country, where fine sand and grit find any open socket. It does nothing while headphones are plugged in, so its condition matters most to detectorists who use the speaker or wireless audio.
Our recommendation: wipe the socket clean before fitting, seat the O-ring evenly, and tighten by hand only. After saltwater use, rinse the cap and socket area with fresh water and check the O-ring for nicks.
