Minelab Search Coil Hardware Kit for GPX, Excalibur II, Sovereign and Eureka

The Minelab Search Coil Hardware Kit (part 3011-0141) is the factory replacement set of nylon screws, wing nuts, washers and spacers that holds the search coil to the lower shaft on Minelab's older GPX, Excalibur, Sovereign and Eureka detectors. It also includes Velcro one-wrap straps for securing the coil cable to the shaft. It suits owners who have lost a wing nut in the field, stripped a screw, or want a spare set in their detecting bag.

Who This Kit Is For

This kit is for owners of the Minelab GPX 4000, 4500, 4800 and 5000, the Minelab Excalibur II and original Excalibur, the Sovereign GT and Sovereign Elite, and the Eureka Gold. These detectors are no longer made, but many are still hunting, and the coil hardware is the part that wears or goes missing first.

It is not the right kit for current Minelab detectors. The Minelab GPX 6000, GPZ series, CTX 3030, Equinox, Manticore and X-Terra each use their own coil hardware, and we stock separate kits for those in our metal detector parts and accessories collection.

• Fits: Minelab GPX 4000, GPX 4500, GPX 4800, GPX 5000, Excalibur, Excalibur II (800 and 1000), Sovereign GT, Sovereign Elite and Eureka Gold
• Does not fit: Minelab GPX 6000, GPZ 7000 and GPZ 8000, CTX 3030, E-Trac and Explorer, Equinox, Manticore, Vanquish and X-Terra. Those use different coil hardware.

Aftermarket coils made for these Minelab models usually mount with the same hardware. Check the coil maker's instructions if you are unsure.

When to Replace Your Coil Hardware

Replace the hardware when a wing nut no longer holds the coil angle, when a screw thread is stripped or cracked, or when a washer has worn through. On the Excalibur II, saltwater and sand wear nylon hardware faster than dry-land use, so beach and water hunters should inspect it more often. Rinse the hardware with fresh water after a saltwater hunt.

Keeping a spare kit in your bag is cheap insurance. A missing wing nut on a remote gold field or a beach trip ends the hunt, and these parts weigh almost nothing.
