Why the Vanquish 360 Earns Its Place in the Field
The Vanquish 360 is the entry-level model in Minelab's new Vanquish 60-series, released in 2025 as a successor to the long-running Vanquish 340. It runs Multi-IQ technology — the same simultaneous multi-frequency engine that powers the Minelab Equinox and Manticore lines. Instead of locking you into a single operating frequency, Multi-IQ transmits and receives across multiple frequencies at once, fusing the response into a single stable target ID. In trashy parks, that means better target separation around iron nails. On wet salt sand, it means stable performance where a single-frequency VLF would chatter and null. For a detector at the entry-level price tier, that's a real step up from traditional single-frequency machines.
The control interface is streamlined for beginners: three pre-programmed search modes (Park, Beach, All Metal), 5 sensitivity levels, 6 discrimination segments, fixed Iron Bias, 3 audio target tones (Low, Mid, High), and 5 volume levels. The biggest hardware upgrade over the older Vanquish 340 is full IP68 waterproofing — the entire detector, control box included, submerges to 5 meters (16 feet). The older 340 had only a waterproof coil; the 360 lets you actually wade or dunk the whole machine.
The Vanquish 360 ships with the V10X 10x7" Double-D coil, an aluminum and fiberglass S-bend collapsible shaft, and a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery good for approximately 10 hours of runtime. It weighs 2.6 pounds (1.16 kg) and collapses from 56 inches extended to 31 inches for transport. No headphones are included in the box, but the detector has a built-in loudspeaker and a 3.5mm wired headphone jack — bring your own wired headphones, or hunt with the speaker.

Vanquish 360 Coil Options
The 360 ships with the V10X 10x7" Double-D coil — the new-generation Vanquish coil with the X designation, designed for the V60-series. The V10X is a strong general-purpose coil for parks, fields, and beach hunting. The V60-series coil lineup also includes the V8X 8x5" Double-D (better for trashy ground and tight target separation) and the V12X 12x9" Double-D (more depth and ground coverage in clean fields, ships standard on the 560). All V60-series V_X coils are cross-compatible across the Vanquish 360, 460, and 560. Browse our selection of compatible Vanquish coils to match coil size to your hunting ground.
Where the Vanquish 360 Performs Best (and Where It Struggles)
Parks and sports fields are the Vanquish 360's home turf. Multi-IQ handles mineralized soil and iron trash better than most single-frequency machines in this price range, and the Park mode does a solid job rejecting bottle caps and pull tabs while holding onto clad and silver targets. All Metal mode is useful for surveying new ground or working areas with minimal trash where you want to hear every signal.
The 360's biggest hardware advantage is full IP68 waterproofing. Unlike the older Vanquish 340/440/540 series (which had waterproof coils but water-resistant control boxes only), the entire V60-series can be fully submerged to 5 meters. That makes wet sand, surf-zone wading, freshwater stream banks, and shallow-water hunting genuinely accessible without babying the housing. The Beach mode is tuned to handle salt mineralization with less chatter than a single-frequency VLF.
The 360 is the simplest model in the V60-series. Hunters who want adjustable Iron Bias, finer discrimination control (30 segments vs. 6), Bluetooth wireless audio, or a backlit display for low-light hunts should step up to the Vanquish 460. Hunters who want the larger V12X coil, 5-tone audio, and vibration feedback should look at the Vanquish 560.
Highly mineralized gold prospecting ground pushes the limits of what the Vanquish platform was designed to handle. The 360 will find larger gold jewelry and surface nuggets in moderate ground, but it is not a replacement for a dedicated prospecting machine like the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 or the GPX series, which carry manual ground balance and threshold tuning purpose-built for goldfield work.
Vanquish 360 vs. 460 vs. 560: Which V60-Series Model Is Right for You?
All three V60-series models share the same core Multi-IQ platform, IP68 waterproofing to 5 meters, V_X-series coil compatibility, ~10-hour lithium-ion battery, and 3-year warranty. They differ in adjustability, audio options, and coil size.

If you are new to the hobby and want simple but capable, the 360 is the right call. If you want adjustable Iron Bias, finer discrimination, and Bluetooth audio without the full 560 price, the 460 is the sweet spot. If you want the larger V12X coil, vibration feedback, and 5-tone audio, the 560 is the top of the V60-series.
Recommended Accessories for Your Vanquish 360 Setup
Minelab Pro-Find 35 or Pro-Find 40 Pinpointer: Pairs naturally with the Vanquish platform. The Pro-Find 35 is waterproof to 10 feet; the Pro-Find 40 adds ferrous tone ID to help distinguish iron from non-ferrous in the plug, plus a lost-pinpointer alarm. A pinpointer speeds up recovery in trashy areas and keeps you from cutting oversized plugs. Browse our pinpointer selection.
Wired Headphones: The Vanquish 360 does not include headphones in the box and does not support wireless audio. Any wired headphones with a 3.5mm jack will work. Models with inline volume control and padded ear cups reduce fatigue on long hunts and help you hear faint signals in windy conditions or near traffic.
Coil Cover for the V10X: A 10x7" skid plate protects the coil from abrasion on rocky ground, gravel paths, and hard-packed fields. Extends coil life and reduces noise from coil strikes.
Detector Carry Bag: The collapsible shaft breaks down quickly, but a padded carry bag keeps the detector and accessories organized during transport. Useful for hunters who travel to multiple sites or store gear in a vehicle.
