    Best for

Highlighted icons show the targets, ground and experience level this detector is built for.

The Minelab VANQUISH 460 brings Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency performance to an incredible price point, and this open-box deal makes the calculation even better. Multi-IQ transmits and receives across multiple frequencies simultaneously, producing target IDs that stay locked as ground conditions shift underfoot, with no frequency switching and no manual ground balance routines.

    Why the VANQUISH 460 Excels

    • Target IDs that hold as ground conditions change. Multi-IQ processes multiple frequencies at once, so the 460's target ID scale stays stable from dry soil to wet beach sand without any user correction.
    • A 30-segment discrimination scale. Isolate specific target ranges precisely, notching coins in while blocking pull tabs and bottle caps.
    • Iron Bias control (three adjustment levels). Suppress false signals from ferrous targets without blanking out non-ferrous targets sitting alongside them in dense iron ground.
    • Full IP68 waterproofing to 5 meters (16 feet). The entire detector is submersible, opening freshwater wading, wet beach surf zones, and rain hunting without concern about equipment damage.
    • Four dedicated search modes. Switch instantly between Beach, Park, Field, and a customizable User Profile depending on your terrain.
    • Advanced Audio & Feedback. Features tactile handgrip vibration and low-latency Bluetooth LE Audio with the LC3 codec to supplement wired headphone use.

What is the difference between the Minelab Vanquish 440 and the Minelab Vanquish 460?

The difference between the Minelab Vanquish 440 and the Minelab Vanquish 460 is that the 460 removes the 440's three weak points. It is IP68 submersible to 16 ft where the 440's control box was only splash resistant, it runs a built-in lithium battery with magnetic USB charging instead of four AAs, and it adds lag-free Bluetooth LE Audio, handgrip vibration, a flashlight and three adjustable Iron Bias levels. Same Multi-IQ engine, same price bracket. Every 460 accessory is in our Minelab Vanquish 460 collection.

Which wireless headphones work with the Minelab Vanquish 460?

Wireless headphones that work with the Minelab Vanquish 460 must support Bluetooth LE Audio with the LC3 codec; older Bluetooth headsets will not pair, and a standard Bluetooth headset that does pair will lag. The 460 also has a built-in speaker and a 3.5 mm jack for the wired headphones in the box. We tested the DetectorPro Gray Ghost Platinum Wireless on the 460 and 560 and it works. Every headset that fits is in our metal detector headphones collection.

What is the difference between the Minelab Vanquish 460 and the Minelab Vanquish 560?

The difference between the Minelab Vanquish 460 and the Minelab Vanquish 560 is coil and audio detail. Both run Multi-IQ, are IP68 waterproof to 16 ft, share the -19 to 99 target ID scale, 30 discrimination segments and 10 sensitivity levels. The 560 ships with the larger V12X 12 x 9 in coil against the 460's V10X 10 x 7 in, adds a fourth Iron Bias level, and runs five target tones with separate ferrous volume against the 460's three. See both in our Minelab Vanquish 560 collection.
