The Nokta SC24, part 17000182, is a 9.5 x 6 in (24 x 15 cm) waterproof DD search coil for the Nokta Score, Double Score and Triple Score. It is the small coil in the Score series lineup: the Score and Double Score ship with the larger 12 x 9 in SC30, and the SC24 gives those detectors a second, more compact coil for trashy parks, tight spots and pinpointing in clutter. The coil cover and mounting hardware come in the box.

Look elsewhere if: you mostly hunt open fields, plowed ground or dry beach sand and want to cover ground fast. Where the SC24 works well, and where it does not

• Trashy parks and old house sites: this is where the SC24 earns its place. The smaller coil separates targets that sit close together and makes it easier to work around iron.
• Brush, rocks and tight spots: the compact coil gets into corners, along walls and between roots where a 12 x 9 in coil cannot sweep flat.
• Wet sand and shallow water: the DD coil and the submersible Score series detectors let you work the waterline and wade the shallows.
• Open fields and large targets: a smaller coil covers less ground per swing and generally reaches less deep on larger targets than a bigger coil. For wide-open ground, the SC30 or SC35 is the better choice.

SC24 vs SC30 vs SC35 for the Score series

All three are waterproof DD coils that fit the Score, Double Score and Triple Score. The SC24 (9.5 x 6 in) is the small coil for separation and tight spaces. The SC30 (12 x 9 in) is the stock all-round coil on the Score and Double Score. The SC35 (13.5 x 12.5 in) is the large coil for covering open ground. Many Score owners run the SC30 as their everyday coil and keep the SC24 for trashy sites.
