The Quest Air rethinks what a metal detector needs to be. There is no control box at all: your smartphone snaps into the detachable tilting holder, connects over Bluetooth through the free Quest AIR MD app, and becomes a full color display for target ID, depth, modes, and battery. What is left is a clean, cable free 7.5 kHz VLF detector with a waterproof 9x5" TurboD Double-D coil that weighs about 2.5 lbs (1.14 kg) and folds flat for travel. Your Phone Is the Control Box

Every detector you have ever swung made you pay for a screen and buttons. The Air skips them, and that changes the experience in practical ways. The app gives you a large, readable target window with coin, ring, foil, and iron indicators, numeric target ID that pushes iron into negative numbers, a depth reader, and both basic and advanced interfaces so beginners and tinkerers each get the right amount of control. Discrimination, tone options, sixteen volume steps, one press pinpointing, and automatic or manual ground balance are all adjusted on the glass you already know how to use. Prefer to hunt without staring at a screen? Stealth mode lets the phone ride in your pocket while you swing by tone alone. Power is just as clever: a patented magnetic rod switch turns the Air on, and the sealed body has no ports to flood, only a protected USB-C cap for charging. Quest rates the built in battery for up to 10 hours per charge and coin detection down to about 12 inches.
