The RTG 2-in-1 Deluxe sand scoop packs two beach tools into one lightweight, made in the USA package. Detach the shaft and it is a nimble 9" hand scoop for kneeling recoveries; slide the anodized aluminum long handle into place and it locks with a spring clip for comfortable stand up detecting, with four length positions to fit your height and your dig style. Up front, a 4" diameter basket of 1/2" heavy wire mesh brazed to 16 gauge galvanized steel empties a scoop of dry sand in a shake or two while your target stays put. Small Basket, Big Advantage in Dry Sand

Dry sand is the easiest digging on the beach, which is exactly why a compact scoop wins there: a 4" basket bites precisely where the pinpointer says, lifts less dead weight per scoop, and drains instantly through the open 1/2" mesh. The Deluxe's brazed construction joins that mesh to a 16 gauge galvanized steel frame, so the basket keeps its shape season after season instead of splaying like bent-tab budget scoops. The handle system is the trick that makes it a keeper: four locking positions let you dial in a comfortable length for standing sweeps of the towel line, and when a target calls for close work, the shaft pulls free in seconds and the rubber gripped hand scoop takes over.
