The Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack is a set of 12 Snappy Grip ergonomic plastic handles in mixed colors. Each handle fits over the thin wire bail of a bucket so the load rests on a wide grip across your fingers instead of on one strand of wire. A mixed pack lets you give every bucket its own color.

Who the Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack is for

The Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack suits prospectors and detectorists who run several buckets at once and want to tell them apart at a glance: paydirt, classified material for the gold classifier, concentrates for the gold pans, and tools. If you want every bucket the same color, buy a single color in the Snappy Grip collection instead. If your buckets have molded handles and no wire bail, there is nothing for the Snappy Grip to fit over.

Colors in the Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack

As of October 2026, the Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack has two each of orange, light blue, royal blue, red, green and yellow.

What a Snappy Grip handle does in use

Snappy Grip says the handle can reduce hand fatigue by more than 50% by spreading the weight over more of the surface of your fingers, fits most hands comfortably, is molded in HDPE plastic with talc added for strength, and is made to last for years without breaking down from sun or chemicals. Snappy Grip also guarantees its handles will not fail at 80 lbs. Here is what that means on a bucket:

    • Wider grip on a thin wire bail. The weight spreads across your fingers instead of one strand of wire.
    • Snaps onto the wire bail. A Snappy Grip snaps onto the wire bail. If the bail already has a plastic grip on it, remove that grip first. You keep the buckets you already own.
    • Rated load. The 80 lb guarantee is for the handle, so check that each bucket and its bail are rated for your load too.
    • Made for outdoor use. Handles can stay on buckets that ride in the truck bed all season.
    • Color coding. One color per job means nobody dumps concentrates into the waste bucket at the end of a long day. That is our practical reason for buying a mixed pack.

    What is in the package

12 Snappy Grip handles in the colors listed above (as of October 2026). The bucket is not included.

Where Snappy Grip handles work well and where they do not

Snappy Grip handles are most useful on heavy loads carried a long way or many times, such as wet gravel from a creek bank or water for a panning tub. They make a bucket easier to hold, not lighter. Snappy Grip does not publish the range of bail wire thickness the handle fits, so on an unusually thick bail, fit one handle before fitting the rest. Snappy Grip also lists rope, twine, pet cage handles, tarp ropes and flat nylon straps as other places the handle works.

The Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack compared with other Snappy Grip packs

The rainbow packs differ in handle count and color mix. The 12 Pack Plus Bonus has the same mix plus one pink bonus handle, and the 8 Pack has one each of black, royal blue, green, orange, pink, red, white and yellow. For the tools that fill the buckets, see our shovels, diggers and picks.

Do I need to remove the old plastic grip before putting on a Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack?

Yes, remove any old plastic grip from the wire bail before you put on a Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack. The Snappy Grip snaps directly onto the bare wire bail, so an existing grip has to come off first. More colors are in the Snappy Grip collection.

    Answered by Dan P. · October 2026

What is the Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack made of?

The Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack is molded plastic. Snappy Grip says its handles are molded in HDPE with talc added for strength.

    Answered by John W. · October 2026

Can I leave the Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack on a bucket stored outside?

Yes, the Snappy Grip Rainbow 12 Pack can stay on a bucket that lives outside or in a truck bed. Snappy Grip says the handles are made to last for years without deterioration from sun or chemicals. That suits buckets that ride along with your gold pans and digging tools.
