    Is the Fisher Gold Bug Pro waterproof?

    No, the Fisher Gold Bug Pro is not fully waterproof. Both search coils in this combo, the 5 inch DD and the 10 inch elliptical DD, are waterproof and can be swept through creeks and shallow water, but the control box is not sealed and has to stay dry.     The difference between the Fisher Gold Bug Pro and the Fisher Gold Bug 2 is frequency and control. The Gold Bug Pro runs 19 kHz with computerized Ground Grab plus manual ground balance, a 2 digit target ID with a discrimination mode, and weighs 2.5 lb on one 9V battery.     The difference between the Fisher Gold Bug Pro and the Fisher Gold Bug DP is the coil, not the electronics. Both run 19 kHz with the same Ground Grab and manual ground balance. The Pro ships with the 5 inch DD coil for small nuggets in tight ground, while the DP ships with the 11 inch DD coil for depth and coverage.
