Minelab EQX 15 Coil Cover, 15x12 in Elliptical Skidplate (3011-0378)

This is the genuine Minelab replacement skidplate for the EQX 15 search coil, Minelab part 3011-0378. It is a 15x12 in elliptical cover that fits the bottom of the EQX 15 Double-D coil and takes the wear from rocks, gravel, roots and sand so the coil housing does not. Minelab describes it simply as a replacement for a worn skidplate on your EQUINOX coil.

Who This Skidplate Is For

This skidplate is for owners of the EQX 15 coil whose original cover is scuffed thin, cracked or missing. A new EQX 15 coil already ships with a skidplate fitted, so you only need this part to replace one.

It fits only the EQX 15. If you run the stock EQX 11 or the small EQX 06, you need the skidplate made for that coil. You can find coils and parts for each model in our Minelab Equinox 900 and Equinox 700 collections.

Why Replace a Worn Skidplate

• Protects the coil housing. Once a skidplate wears through, the coil shell itself starts scraping on the ground. The skidplate is the cheap, replaceable part. The coil is not.
• Keeps the coil quieter when you scrub. A loose or cracked skidplate can rattle or flex when you sweep low over rough ground. A snug new one sits firmly on the coil.
• Same fit as the original. It is the Minelab part, made for the EQX 15's 15x12 in elliptical shape, so it lines up with the coil's outline.

Compatibility

This skidplate fits the Minelab EQX 15 15x12 in Double-D coil. That coil works on these Minelab detectors, including models Minelab no longer makes, so owners of older units can still find the right part:

• Minelab Equinox 900 and Equinox 700
• Minelab X-Terra Pro and X-Terra Elite
• Minelab Equinox 800 and Equinox 600

It does not fit the EQX 11, EQX 06, the Manticore M15 or Vanquish coils. Each of those coils has its own skidplate.

Practical Tips

Check the bottom of your skidplate every few months if you hunt gravel, beaches or rocky fields. Replace it once you see bare spots, deep gouges or a crack, before the wear reaches the coil. Rinse sand and grit out from between the skidplate and the coil after beach or water hunts so it does not grind on the coil housing.
