Minelab Sennheiser HD 505 Audiophile Wired Headphones for GPZ 8000

The Sennheiser HD 505 is the audiophile wired headphone supplied with the Minelab GPZ 8000 gold detector, available here as a genuine replacement or spare. Minelab paired its flagship with a true high-fidelity, open-back headphone for a specific reason: the GPZ 8000's Echo Sonic Pro™ audio sends distinct signal components to each ear, and it takes a true stereo, high-fidelity headphone like the HD 505 to actually hear that separation. Plug it into the detector's 3.5 mm headphone socket and the layered ground and target audio the machine produces arrives intact.

Why an Audiophile Headphone on a Gold Detector?

On previous machines, headphone choice was about comfort and volume. The GPZ 8000 changed that: Echo Sonic Pro produces rich, layered tones with enhanced stereo separation, and subtle differences in that audio are how experienced operators tell a promising deep signal from ground noise before digging. A speaker or basic mono headset flattens exactly the detail the detector was engineered to deliver. Minelab designed Echo Sonic Pro for true stereo, high-fidelity headphones with a flat frequency response, which is why it includes the HD 505 in the GPZ 8000 box rather than a generic detecting headset.

Key Features

• The same audiophile wired headphones supplied with the Minelab GPZ 8000
• Open-back design with transparent sound and true stereo imaging, matched to Echo Sonic Pro™ audio
• 120-ohm Sennheiser transducer for precise detail across the frequency range

• Keep the HD 505 dry: Minelab's waterproof rating covers the detector, coil and WM 14 module, not the wired headphones
• Detachable cable design: a worn cord is a cheap fix, not a headphone replacement

Compatibility

• Minelab GPZ 8000: via the wired 3.5 mm headphone socket
• Any detector or audio device with a standard 3.5 mm headphone output
