Nokta Extended Carbon Fiber Lower Shaft 25.4 in for Simplex, Legend, Score & FINDX

The Nokta 17000652 is a longer carbon fiber lower shaft for Nokta's current Simplex, Legend, Score and FINDX detectors. At 64.5 cm (25.4 in), it replaces the standard lower shaft to lengthen the detector, so taller detectorists can swing the coil flat and close to the ground without hunching over. Carbon fiber keeps the added length light.

Who the extended lower shaft is for

This shaft is for detectorists who find their Nokta too short even with the shaft fully extended, and who end up bending at the back or swinging the coil at an angle. A coil that tilts up at the end of each swing loses depth on that side, so the right length is about more than comfort. It is also a straightforward replacement if your standard lower shaft is cracked or worn.

If your detector already fits you at full extension, the standard lower shaft is the better choice, since a longer shaft adds leverage and the coil feels heavier at the end of the swing. If you own the Nokta Legend 2, this part does not fit; the Legend 2 uses its own shaft set, listed in our Nokta Legend 2 collection.

What it does in the field

• Longer reach. The extra length lets you stand upright while keeping the coil level and close to the ground through the whole swing.
• Light carbon fiber. Lengthening a detector with a carbon fiber lower shaft adds less weight at the coil end than a heavier material would, which matters over a long day of swinging.
• Same mounting as the standard part. It takes the place of the original lower shaft between the middle shaft and the coil, so your coil and the rest of the shaft carry over.

The older Simplex+ and Simplex BT are not on Nokta's compatibility list for this part. If you own one of those, contact us before ordering.

How it differs from the other Nokta carbon fiber shafts

• Standard carbon fiber lower shaft (17000067): fits the same detectors at the stock length. Choose it if your detector already fits you and you only need a replacement.
• Longer carbon fiber middle shaft (17000653): lengthens the detector at the middle section instead of the lower section, for the same list of detectors. Very tall detectorists often fit both longer shafts together for the most reach.
