The Nokta Invenio Standard Pack is a 14 kHz VLF metal detector that combines positional tracking with graphical processing to draw 3D representations of what it detects, and it adds a Ground Anomaly and Cavity mode. Its IPTU sensor tracks the coil's movement and height, the shaft links to the system box over a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, and the package carries two waterproof DD coils, the INV28 and the INV40.

Who the Nokta Invenio Standard suits
What interests us about the Invenio is how it interprets buried targets. Instead of relying only on audio and a target ID number, it combines positional tracking with graphical processing to build a representation of what it detected. We think that suits customers investigating larger buried metal objects, historical sites and possible underground anomalies. One point we want to be clear about: the Invenio does not photograph buried objects. Its images are generated from detection data.
How the Invenio builds its images
IPTU sensor: the Integrated Positional Tracking Unit follows the coil's left-right and forward-back movement and its height above the ground. Picture a suspected buried metal container. You scan the area in a steady pattern, and the system combines the position data with the detector's responses to draw a graphical representation. Technique matters: Nokta says the coil must stay parallel to the ground, with a recommended sensor height of 30 to 50 cm (12 to 20 inch). Uneven movement or coil height will skew the result.
3D imaging: on an old property where records suggest a large metal object is buried, the graphs can help you decide where further investigation is justified. They cannot give the exact shape, composition or identity of every object; the result is an estimate built from detector signals.
Ground Anomaly and Cavity mode: designed to help identify certain ground anomalies, such as a void or disturbed ground. A cavity indication is not proof of a tunnel, a chamber or buried treasure; ground conditions and other factors can produce misleading results. The Invenio is no substitute for a professional geophysical survey or an excavation safety assessment.
About the Nokta Invenio Standard
The shaft and the system box talk to each other over a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, and the system box carries a 7 inch, 800 x 480 TFT screen with a backlight, plus an LED flashlight for the scan area. Nokta says the Artificial Neural Network enables the device to provide superior shape extraction; we read that as better drawings from the detection data, not as identification of what is buried. You can save 3D graphs and screenshots and transfer them to a PC, vibration can signal a target, Nokta delivers firmware updates over USB from a PC, and the menus come in 17 languages.
Batteries: the shaft and the system box run on separate batteries. Nokta gives the shaft a 7.4 V, 5400 mAh battery for about 9 hours and the system box a 7.4 V, 5500 mAh battery for about 5 hours; each takes about 2 hours to charge.
Water: Nokta says not to immerse the device or its accessories in water, except for the search coil and the IPTU sensor, so keep the system box and shaft dry. The waterproof (IP67) hard transport case protects the whole system between sites.
Settings and coils that matter on the Invenio Standard
14 kHz: the Invenio Standard works at 14 kHz only. We see that as a practical general-purpose VLF frequency with a balanced response across target sizes. The selectable 5 and 20 kHz frequencies are on the Invenio Pro.
Coils: we use the INV28 (28 x 18 cm, about 11 x 7 inch) when maneuverability and detailed searching matter. The INV40 (40 x 35 cm, about 15.7 x 13.8 inch) suits broad areas and potentially larger buried objects, but it is not automatically better on small targets.
Modes: three motion modes (All Metal, Fast and Deep) and three non-motion modes (Basic, Expert, and Ground Anomaly and Cavity). Learn the operating procedures before you read much into complex graphical results.
Invenio Standard or Invenio Pro
We would recommend the Standard when you want the Invenio imaging system but don't need several operating frequencies or the additional large INV56 coil that comes with the Pro. The core imaging concept is the same on both models.
One mistake to avoid with the Nokta Invenio Standard
Assuming a graphical image identifies buried treasure. The Invenio gives useful information, but only excavation establishes what an object actually is.
Our recommendation on the Nokta Invenio Standard
We see the Invenio Standard as best suited to customers who specifically want an advanced, imaging-oriented scanning detector. Its strongest point is how it combines positional tracking with graphical target information, instead of relying on audio detection alone.
