The Nokta Legend 2 is Nokta's second-generation simultaneous multi-frequency detector: 99 target IDs, five search modes including the new Relic mode, a 6700 mAh battery and IP68 waterproofing to 16 ft (5 m), at 1.2 kg (2.6 lbs). The AccuPOINT runs 1-tone, 2-tone or Iron-Off modes with separate ferrous and non-ferrous tones, shows battery and sensitivity on a color LCD, pairs to Bluetooth headphones, is IP68 waterproof to 3 m (10 ft), and sounds a lost alarm with a flashing LED after five minutes idle. The premium digger's serrated stainless blade cuts turf and roots so plugs go back neatly, and the finds pouch keeps finds, trash and the digger on your belt. The DetectoBag carries the Legend 2 collapsed to 25 in with the 11 in coil mounted, the second coil, headphones, pinpointer and digger in separate compartments, with a rain cover for the walk back. Field Use

Parks and Sports Fields

Park mode in Multi with the LD28, three or five tones, sensitivity around 24. Silver and clad read in the 80s and 90s; pull tabs scatter through the 40s. Cut a hinged plug with the digger, sweep the AccuPOINT across the hole and the sides, and the coin is in the pouch in under a minute.

Old Homesites and Relic Fields

Relic mode with the LD21, a fast recovery speed and FerroCheck on separates buttons and buckles from nails. The AccuPOINT's Iron-Off mode ignores the nails in the hole so you find the button, not the junk around it.

Beach, Wet Sand and Shallow Water

Beach mode handles wet salt sand in Multi, and the IP68 rating covers wading and snorkeling to 16 ft. The AccuPOINT is waterproof to 10 ft. The Bluetooth headphones are not waterproof; use the speaker or a bone-conduction headset in the water, and add a sand scoop.

Gold Prospecting

Legend 2 vs. the Original Legend

The Legend 2 expands target IDs from 60 to 99, adds the Relic mode and target ID in Pinpoint, moves to a harmonic audio engine, adds 19 noise cancel channels, wireless firmware updates, bone-conduction headphone support and a backlit keypad, and drops about 0.4 lbs.
