The EQX 15 maximizes depth performance for serious treasure hunters who need to cover large open areas efficiently. This 15x12-inch elliptical DD coil pulls deeper targets from the ground while its wide footprint lets you sweep more area with each pass.

Key Features

Maximum depth detection - 15x12-inch elliptical DD design reaches deeper targets than standard coils
Fast ground coverage - Large footprint covers more area per sweep in open spaces
Fully waterproof construction - Hunt beaches, shallow water, and wet conditions without worry
Complete setup included - Comes with matching lower rod, protective skid plate, and all mounting hardware
DD configuration benefits - Better target separation and reduced ground mineralization interference
Smart coil technology - Auto-recognizes on compatible Equinox detectors

Best Applications

This coil shines in large open areas like farm fields, parks, and beaches where you want to cover maximum ground while reaching the deepest targets. The elliptical shape makes it more maneuverable than a round 15-inch coil while still providing excellent depth. It's particularly effective for Minelab Equinox 800 and Equinox 900 users hunting deep silver coins, relics, and jewelry.

The DD configuration handles mineralized soil better than concentric coils, making this a smart choice for challenging ground conditions. Beach hunters will appreciate the waterproof design and ability to detect deeper targets in wet sand.

Compatibility & Setup

Works with all Minelab Equinox series detectors and the X-TERRA Pro. The included lower rod ensures proper balance, while the fitted skid plate protects your investment during extended use. Installation is straightforward with the included coil hardware.

Does the Minelab EQX 15 coil and lower rod kit fit the X-Terra Pro?

The Minelab EQX 15 coil fits the X-Terra Pro, but the lower rod in this kit does not. Minelab makes a separate lower shaft for the X-Terra Pro and X-Terra Elite, different from the Equinox shafts, so X-Terra owners should buy the EQX 15 coil on its own and mount it to their existing lower rod. Find the right coils and parts in our Minelab X-Terra Pro collection.

Why buy the Minelab EQX 15 coil with a lower rod?

Buying the Minelab EQX 15 coil with a lower rod lets you leave the 15-inch coil bolted to its own shaft section. Switching between the EQX 15 and your stock coil then means swapping lower rods and plugging in the other coil cable, instead of removing and refitting the coil bolt every time. It also leaves you a spare rod if one cracks in the field. See more genuine parts in our Minelab detectors and accessories.

Does the Minelab EQX 15 coil go deeper than the stock EQX 11?

Yes, the Minelab EQX 15 coil goes deeper than the stock EQX 11 coil; Minelab rates it as the deepest coil in the EQX range, though it publishes no inch figure. The 15x12-inch footprint also covers more ground per swing. The trade-offs are weight (660 g with skid plate) and weaker target separation in trashy ground, where the EQX 11 or EQX 06 does better.
