The Minelab EQX 06 is the smallest EQX coil, a 6 inch round waterproof Double-D search coil that fits the EQUINOX series, X-TERRA PRO, X-TERRA ELITE and VANQUISH 360, 460 and 560. Minelab packs it with the EQUINOX 900 alongside the EQX 11 and calls it very sensitive to small targets and ideal for detecting in difficult terrain.
Who the EQX 06 is for
Detectorists who work old foundations, iron-heavy homesites, trashy parks or cramped spots get the most from the EQX 06. Its 6 inch footprint helps you check signals that sit close together and reach between fences, roots and rocks. For an EQUINOX 900 owner, it is a direct replacement for the small coil supplied with the detector.
How we use the EQX 06
We reach for the EQX 06 when iron or trash around a target is masking it on an 11 inch coil. On detectors with adjustable Recovery Speed, choose a setting that suits the target density, and keep discrimination light so good targets lying beside iron still get dug.
The compatibility point customers get wrong most is the VANQUISH. The VANQUISH 360, 460 and 560 take EQX coils, while the original VANQUISH 340, 440 and 540 use V8, V10 and V12 coils.
Key features
- 6 inch (15 cm) round footprint: the most compact EQX coil, which Minelab calls perfect for finding treasure in high trash areas.
- Double-D winding: matches the EQX 11 and EQX 15.
- 300 g (10.6 oz) with skidplate: 210 g lighter than the EQX 11 and 360 g lighter than the EQX 15.
- Waterproof: listed by Minelab as a waterproof coil.
- Coil cover included: the protective skidplate comes with the coil.
- 3 year Minelab warranty: the period Minelab gives EQUINOX, X-TERRA and VANQUISH accessories.
